I'm a bit frustrated. I've been coming in way under calories and expected a bigger loss. I realize part of the problem is my lack of patience. I'm not stopping though. I feel SO much better now that I cut out sugar and simple carbs. My energy is better, I'm sleeping better, and finally coming out of the "fog" I've been in since quitting the sugar. Overall, it's been a great week.

Also, I want to note that although my loss has slowed down, my clothes are much looser! I suppose that's a good sign. :-)

Great job cutting out sugar. I am working it too.. I just started to make my smoothies with vegetables only - no fruit. Not to bad.

We often lose inches before the scale catches up - stick with it!

Thanks @BeGracious. It was difficult without sugar/heavy carbs initially, but I'm enjoying the way I feel too much to miss them! @HCB thanks for the encuragement! I have noticed the inches-before-pounds thing in the past. :-)

Can I ask how many calories a day?
01 Apr 15 by member: Rckc
@Rckc: Sure! The RDI the program chose for me was 2000 (which I thought was ridiculous) so I set it to 1800 and aimed for 1600. I've been falling between 1000 and 1300 most days. I haven't been very hungry and would have to go out of my way to consume more calories. I thought maybe my body was conserving since I've cut my intake down so significantly.

Don't go too low on calories. Your body will think you're starving, and refuse to release the fat. My daughter was doing that, and when I had her increase her calories, she lost weight.

1200-1300 calories is a good amount. FS often over estimates!

Yeah I checked mine on another site and it said 1200 to lose 2 pounds a week. I usually fall between 1000-1200 each day. I'm with you tho, I sure wish it came off faster...I swear it seemed to gain overnight!

@HCB FS definitely over estimates those calories! Yikes. @Rckc I keep getting a ranges from 1500-1800 calories. Guess I'll just keep doing what I'm doing since I'm not starving. Oh yeah... it totally comes on overnight! I've decided sugar is the most evil of evils, along with pasta/white bread items. I'm amazed how my waist and hips are shrinking since I cut them out. More energy, too!
