Exercised every day for at least 30 minutes and stuck to my diet. But again not lost any weight. This is frustrating! F 34.1 M 36.5 W 49

I still say it may be muscle weight..... However why not try increasing protein and decreasing carb.... Looking at your diet calendar, the number of grams carbs you are having, can be half as much, to double the grams of protein. I have just cut my hubbies carbs down, by eliminating bread from his diet and increasing his protein - calories consumed are about the same (he had been losing and gaining the same pound for weeks and was getting disheartened). This week he lost 4 pounds!

Thanks Skinny, I will try to cut down but I don't eat bread often and only a small sweet potato once a week. My carbs are all from fruit and vegetables, I don't eat refined carbs or sugary food. As a vegetarian I get my protein from eggs, dairy products and meatless foods, it is difficult to increase these but I will try. I was wondering whether to cut down my total calories but my RDI was calculated at 1800. Maybe it is more muscle and water in the muscles as I have done a lot of strenthening exercise this week and my muscles have been sore.

Ha ha Larastar... You are sooo funny. Depends how big the cheesecake was - a dinner plate sized serving may have bu****ed you but a 2 cm slither would probably be ok :-). Didn't realise you were vegetarian, must be herd increasing protein. Good luck, I am still sure it must be muscle

Cheesecake was one serving -1/6 slice! In my old life I wouldn't even have looked at the nutrition info, just eaten half the cake. I now calculate all my treats into my daily allowance so it wasn't even cheating. Skinny what is your RDI? I have noticed your calories are a lot lower than mine. I am 5'6".

Lara, I saw your entry this morning, and feel for you. It looks like you eat very well. It's so easy for us to get carbs and more difficult to get protein. I agree with Skinny. I'd lower the carbs and increase the protein. And I'd do other plant proteins instead of soy.

Hi laraStar, I am 5ft 9in. Aged 62 - female my RDI on FS is 1500 at a sedentary lifestyle to loose 1 lb. A week. On live strong it is 845 to loose 2 lb a week! I set it at 1300 myself on FS as I figure that's middle ground and I know I can sustain that very comfortably. On my body analyser it says my RDI is 1480'ish - confused!!!!! I think it is all about setting yourself a level you can sustain and feel comfortable at. Initially I was only consuming around the 1,000 Mark but as I have been exercising more I have tried to up it. I do record everything BUT there is always the odd taster spoonful, to check seasoning etc that is not recorded. I am not obsessive about either going over my RDI or under it - whatever I feel comfortable with on that day. I think before I dieted I was not on a huge amount of food calories, drink accounted for lots and stupid snack calories eg odd packet of crisps, nuts etc I am not a cake or sweet lover - probably cheese is my thing if anything - I am now buying low fat cheese and cottage cheese. :-). Hav a good weekend

Thank you both! I will up my protein and reduce total calories by 150-200 for a week and reassess. I know I am eating healthy and moving a lot so numbers are not everything.
