Deb_N's Journal, 23 March 2015

Hello, everyone! Thanks for supporting and commenting on my journals. For the new people here, I was diabetic with high cholesterol and high blood pressure. I started watching what I eat and walking every day. It was slow, losing about five pounds a month. About three months after I joined FS, I started to increase my fiber (25-40 grams a day) and increase my protein (46-90 grams a day). This helped me a lot in my weight loss journey. My doctor stopped the diabetes pill because my blood sugar became normal and he cut my cholesterol pill in half. I kept walking and eating right and my doc stopped the cholesterol pill. I'm still on the high blood pressure pill, because my doctor says I need it. I'm at my goal weight and so happy about it. I told everyone I was going to get a smoothie maker or a blender as a reward when I reach my goal weight. I bought myself a "Mother's Ring" which has a different birthstone for each one of my kids. It was something I always wanted to get, but they didn't make this ring in size 12. Now I weigh the same as I did when I got married and I bought the ring in size 9. I don't wear it every day but on special occasions. I'm saving my money again and I'm going to buy the smoothie maker or blender. Life is good. You must make a plan and stick with it. Be consistent and you will reach your goal!

I appreciate the support and am thankful for those that have reached their goals and are still around here. Those that have reached their goal often leave the site and we lose their advice & support. Thanks for sticking around. Thanks for the buddy support! You've done a great job at just sticking to it and following through with your goals. And are proof that it can be done if you just keep going and keep trying.

Good Morning every one, in my case i found that the only way i can keep up with my Diet program is to follow on controlling Calories count, and no other way, eat all you want and what ever you like as long you are keeping up with the calories count , i followed up a 1600 calories and 160 Carb daily Max.

I have a NINJA too, Deb (abt $150 for full set at Sams Clubs). I love it! Excellent smoothies, protein shakes and food processor. I do not like it as a juicer -- maybe need something more powerful like a VitaMix that really pulverizes all the fibrous veg. Look into NINJA, I've been very pleased. YOU HAVE NEWLY INSPIRED ME!!
