Sandy701's Journal, 15 June 2011

All done walking my 3.3 miles and it was just after 7:30! Dogs got to go nearly 2 miles of that, as we started out before the sun was above the horizon. My Lab was disappointed that we seemed to be out walking before most of the squirrels were even up and about! By the time I finished, it was a mere 80 degrees...still humid as could be, but at least 10 degrees cooler than when I finished yesterday and immensely more bearable!

Of course, I was up too early to have a good weigh-in, so my goal will sadly not be met for today. :( This isn't the first goal I haven't met, and it probably won't be the last. But goals should be challenging, right? It's not as if I'm giving up, just that the timetable will be different.

Just for today, no nut butters and no peanuts.

Today will be challenging for me. Because I'm up so much earlier than usual, my meal and snack times are "off." Even little things like that can throw me for a loop, so I need to pay close attention to my food planning.

Just a few things around the house to do this AM and then off to the thrift shop for the afternoon.

Focus, focus, focus.

I'm doing just fine...stay on target.

Wow, you were up & at 'em early! Great way to beat the heat, good for you. What works for me is to kind of spread breakfast out a little. I usually have an Atkins shake after excercise, then get ready for work, go to work, work for a bit & then around 10 or so, I have a little more, like an egg, or some blueberries & cream, or a brat, mim or some left overs. Then I am ready for lunch on time, etc. I know that later on in the summer I will have to deal with 80 by 7:30 too. That's what I call boating weather! Plus, we NEVER give up, not EVER!! Darn it that our bodies don't lose as quickly as we would like, it's like they have their own ideas about weight loss! Hang in there, we will win!

Sandy - Glad you were able to beat the heat! Good plan. I wanted to get back to you on the Blueberry Tea. I've never intentionally made it iced, but have left my mug in the air conditioning before and it was pretty icy by the time I got back to it - and I thought it was pretty good! My thing is that I found that a warm drink seems to fill me up more and takes my mind off from food! Catch you next Wednesday!

GG-Girl....I usually have a cheese stick before walking and then a delayed breakfast getting close to lunch time. But going out so early means I was ready for breakfast a lot sooner, and then got hungry for lunch but was leaving for the store....well, you get the picture. I'll come up with something to stretch things out since it seems like this schedule may be rather typical going thru the summer. And, you're right, we just gotta hang in there!

Laurie, no finds at the store today. I volunteer there each week, but I'm usually all over the place so I get to see what comes in, sometimes before it goes out on the floor, so I can buy it right away! In fact, the shorts I wore today came from there a couple months ago. Glad to see you can be on the site more often - I've missed you. Have a good evening.

Thanks Squiggs. My Lab was so disappointed, though, as she delights in watching the squirrels' antics. She even mock-stalks them as we walk - she's so funny that way. Have a (stable !) good evening.

Bren, I only semi-melted! LOL! But it was just so much more comfortable, I just need to remember that when I'm debating getting up early or not. Have a good Thursday.
