EmmaLeanAgain's Journal, 27 July 2022

I’m hungry. I’m consistently hungry ever since we returned from vacation. I’m finding it very hard to stay under 1600 calories even though I did it for three solid months before our travels and I averaged 1.5 meals a day while abroad. I don’t understand what’s going on. Currently on day 3 of dreaming about cheese pizza. What do I do, is this mind set or my body telling me it needs more? Super confused. And REALLY want that pizza.

I found an awesome pizza through the place I buy my meals. That I love and it actually taste like pizza. It is a smaller pie but it serves it's purpose. It is made out of Cauliflower. Check it out! cleaneatzkitchen.com

It could be both your brain and your body. Personally, I would order a small cheese pizza, eat two-three slices with a great, big, colorful salad, and see if tackling the craving head-on helps. A maintenance day won't kill you, especially if it gets you over the hump. If it doesn't, I would look at my macros to see if I'm getting enough protein, complex carbs, and critical fats (what's your current break-down??). Sometimes a simple bump in protein and carbs (while reducing fat) gives you more volume, and volume is what fills your stomach (and tells your brain you're full). Last resort, I would up my calories to 1700. Adherence is the name of the game, and if it takes 100 calories to help you adhere, it's worth it. AND, sometimes a small bump in calories will help you drop body fat. Seems counterintuitive, but it works. You have come so far!! Don't give up. There are solutions!

I should back up and ask...what's your WOE? Were you eating drastically different during vacation, or did you manage to stay on track?

@are I was in Europe so my diet carried by country and also temperature (Rome was 102 so I ate light breakfast, panini lunch and a moderate dinner while in Budapest I loaded up on protein and veg then enjoyed some heavier items in Vienna). I didn’t count cals or limit myself but also didn’t overindulge and maintained my weight and body composition throughout. Hope that helps answer your question.
