A Bar-Room Brawl - I have never been in a bar-room brawl. But like most of you, I have seen them in movies and on TV. Most all of us can lose a fair amount of weight as we first start our journey, esp.if we are able to stay "on plan" with our food and exercise. However, as soon as our "automatic" mind realizes there has been a significant reduction in our calorie intake, the mind issues a COMMAND to all of our body - "Begin to become MORE efficient in use of calories immediately!!! Our food supply has been CUT and we must conserve!!! So now we must work a little harder to burn more calories. (This is where we need to resist the idea to cut calories even more and simply move our bodies a little more, even if we already are.)The closer we get to our goal weight, the more I have a mental picture of the bar-room brawl Fists are flying, bottles hurled through the air-- chairs, poolsticks, and anything else NOT nailed down become weapons. There are two sides...me and my encouragers...and my body with its natural inclination to conserve. Who will win? Probably the side with most PATIENCE AND DEDICATION. This is a word picture that causes me to chuckle a little bit on days where the scale says I have "broken even" or even gained a little even though I have STAYED ON PLAN. Maybe this will help some of you as well. I Never want to be in real bar-room brawl...LOL...but my body will at some point test my resolve in a very similar way and I want to be prepared. Fight on, Fat-Secret Warriors...and let your friends and buddies HELP you. Have a blessed weekend!!!!
