On my mom's book shelf she has an old copy of the South Beach diet. I know that she based a lot of her dieting philosophies on it, so I think I'll give it a try, but I'm nervous that the structure will frustrate me and I'll give up. I'll give it a try for a while. If it doesn't work, I'll go forth on my own.

Read the book cover to cover before you start. It explains how and why the diet works, and I've found that it's easier to follow with that understanding. Good luck!

Thanks. I've read up to the chapter "It's Not What You Eat, It's How You Eat It." The whole idea that processed food is basically predigested food is really interesting.
