BrandyRelaxing's Journal, 25 April 2011

So we went away for a night... was supposed to be 2 days, but my goodness, it was so uncomfortable and just not my happy place, so for my husband's safety we had to come back home and get me some sleep! lol

They did have a really nice fitness centre, and I tried out an eliptical machine there that let me know what kind NOT to buy... could just be over-use and lack of maintenance since it was a small hotel.

Anyways.... you can see by my calories that we were not watching what we were eating... and it's odd but I don't have any cravings. I could have whatever I wanted, and I didn't want to eat chocolate... it's odd!

The other good thing I did, well I say good until I have to make the payment on the credit card... but I bought an eliptical machine. It's my reward for being below 300... so since I'm not yet, my DH jokingly said that I have to be under 300 before it arrives on Monday, or I have to stay on it until I am! LOL

Nice reward! What kind did you get.

I'd love to get a treadmill or elliptical for the house but we don't have the money or the room for one. As for the cravings, I've found that sugar cause them more than carbs do. They also show more of a weight gain on the scale. But that's South Beach-based philosophy.

Congrats on the purchase!!! That elliptical is going to skyrocket you down towards Onederland, my dear. :) Jealous!

So jealous..wish I had an elliptical at home...hehe. I love using it at the gym and it doesnt kill my knees or give blisters like the treadmill. It will be nice to jump on and exercise whenever you want. The pounds are gonna start flying off :)

I am very excited about it... I still have to wait a week for delivery! So I'm sure when it's delivered on Monday, I'll want to try it out, and end up VERY sore on Tuesday! :)

LOL nice. I would LOVE to get one of those. But sadly not in the budget. Its nice to have a workout machine at home! I love having my gazelle and my rower...(I have to lose some weight to get back on my rower) but it makes life easier. A gym membership is totally out of the question for me. Work out to your fave show the time will fly!

@Jennifer - the Gazelle is almost the same as an eliptical machine, without the electronics to go wrong! It's probably a much better workout!! :)

I've tried arc trainers at my gym (i.e. the Gazelle) & I'm not a fan. I don't feel like I'm doing anything. At least on the elliptical I feel like I'm getting a real workout. @amethystmist, sugar IS carbs but I'm sure you meant eating sweets triggers cravings more than say, pasta & rice. That is probably true for some, but I go nuts on carbs once a week & I rarely if ever end up fighting cravings after I'm back to low carb. I do think it's the combination of fat & carbs that really does it for me, because I definitely indulged in both when I went on vacation a couple weeks back. It took at least a week for me to really get back to normal.
