MandaPanda242's Journal, 22 April 2011

ugh, I am growing more and more upset about this starvation mode stuff. Granted I skipped breakfast this morning (because I had dr appointments back to back), I still only topped out at 900 something calories. My boyfriend cook all my meals today. Bless his little heart. For lunch he made me a quorn "chicken" sandwich with fresh crushed tomato, basil leaves, whole wheat bread, and cheese. For dinner a "mexican" style stuffed pepper. It was filled with quinoa, mock ground sausage, mushroom, topped with fresh crushed tomatoes, homemade adobo sauce, and salsa. And you know what, I'm stuffed and I doubt I'll snack tonight because I'm exhausted and I'll be in bed soon. I'm trying so hard to build muscle, eat healthfully, and just do this right. It sucks to find out that what I'm doing could be the opposite. Especially when I thought I was doing so well. I have never in my life looked forward to working out, and now I cant wait for my next work out, I enjoy the soreness, I dont feel that pang of shame when I walk by the mirror any more. I have a lot of imperfections but now I'm fucking doing something about it. But I'm doing it wrong? This shit is too hard. How does anyone balance all of this?

Btw, you can always do a protein bar, or a whey shake or something like Jordan Rubin's Garden of Life RAW Meal when you're on the go. I know on the go!

I usually do have a LUNA bar when I'm running late (which is the story of my life) but I was to the point where I was going to make my appointment by the skin of my teeth. and all I was thinking was GO GO GO, not EAT EAT EAT! So yeah, I did drop the ball there. And yes, my boyfriend can be a real gem sometimes. When I 1st started dieting it was realllllly hard because he is not ready to make a change yet so he eats all my favorite fat foods in front of me. It took me a while to become unfazed, but luckily he's always been willing to make 2 separate meals for us and has been supportive of me all the way through.

I say don't stress about it. If you feel good, and you aren't making yourself starve when you do feel hungry then just go with it. Try to fatten stuff up now and then- like your idea of full fat yogurt and cheese... but don't go crazy over it! You'll go batty! :)

And Manda, a boyfriend who cooks at all not to mention one who cooks FOR YOU is something to be really thankful for. LOL.
