Dear FS Gods & my fellow disciples:

I have completely lost my way!

I have forgotten the good old habits of the last year and a half, and have stopped working out, and let carbs completely take over!! As a result I have gained like over 10-12 pounds over the last 3 weeks!!!! I didn't even know it was HUMANLY POSSIBLE to gain so much weight so fast!!!!

I don't even know where to start. How to get the control back. Or find all the reasons why I should even try to do so!! The damage is getting out of control...and I don't know how to make it stop!!!

I know I need to make a plan, buy groceries, decide new menus, and force myself to get my butt to the gym and get started!! I need to push myself to do a REAL workout. Not just mosey around and do half-hearted stuff there!

I was soooo close to my goal, only 15 pounds short, and now I have been pushed back further still...way worse than in a long time! I don't want to get discouraged...but how do I encourage myself????
Where are my goals?
what are the deadlines?
what are the menus?
What is my exercise plan?
Why do I need to stay focused?
what would be the penalty if I failed here?

God! I need to remind myself of all of the above....remind myself of these answers...and that should get me on some semblance of a track....

hang in there, you can do this! we all backslide from time to time, and feel horrible afterwards. sometimes we lose sight of the reasons we are even doing it because we feel deprived, or that we just want to indulge without thinking having to feel bad about it. it is okay!! just hop back on the wagon and remind yourself why you're doing this-be it health, self-image, or whatever reason, it is ultimately for you! and you deserve to be happy about your weight! and yourself as a whole! good luck to you, grab the bull by the horns, and know all of us here on fs are here for ya, and will probably need you for the same inspiration at one point. take care!

It's not a failure, it's a setback. It's only a failure if you give up - and the penalty for giving up will be more frustration and dissatisfaction! You seem to go from VERY strict eating and VERY HARD workouts to total rebellion. Maybe if you tried something middle-of-the-road you wouldn't feel the need to ditch it when it feels too hard and restrictive. Or maybe I'm totally off-base here - if so, just ignore me! I'll get over it! :) I hope you take some time to regroup and figure out what you want to do. ((((hugs)))))

OK There's no reason to be discouraged because you are doing GREAT!! Get right back on the wagon. You sliped a bit, but we all do. It's not too late. You can do it. I know you can. I'm rooting for you. You go girl!

i'm rooting for you too! i know you can do this. i've been where you are right now and it can be a vicious cycle. and it seems that once you lose control it snowballs from there. STOP NOW! first chance you get go to the store, buy healthy things and lower those carbs, i swear the carbs are sometimes more addicting than sugar. go to bed with the idea in your head that when you get up its a new day, and time to start over, and don't overwhelm yourself with everything at once, start with one thing, sometimes i think (at least for me) if i start with one change the other stuff comes. you are still doing great and don't forget we all have these times(otherwise we wouldn't need a diet in the first place)and we can overcome. good luck! i'm here for you, and i'll help anyway i can. i also agree with amyrk, that maybe you don't allow yourself the treat of things you enjoy often enough and then you go crazy, it happens to me, so i'm trying not to let that happen this time, if i really really want something i have it, i just try to have a little and not the whole thing, like sharing dessert or pizza, etc. try one thing tomorrow and maybe one more the next day(baby steps), your goal is still within reach you have not blown it yet.

08, I'm at a struggling point, too. I think that maybe it would help if you just focus on getting your food on track and then worry about the exercise. With your hectic schedule, I think that the added stress of fitting in an exercise routine as a "must do" each day is doing you more harm than good, especially when you fall short of your goal and then feel bad afterward. You CAN still lose weight without exercising. And less guilt and stress will help you keep things in line. Then IF you have time to exercise, go right ahead. But don't be so hard on yourself! You can get back to where you were. Tomorrow is a new day.
