Hope you all have enjoyed your holiday weekend. We spent the day picnicing with our small group and families and played a lot of volleyball (not too active really with all the kids, etc). But, it was fun anyway. Also a lot of eating today. I had a light hot dog for lunch and a turkey burger for dinner but had sides too and cake. We had Chinese last night. My weight was not pretty tonight! Back on track as usual tomorrow.

Working out this week was good. I got in 250 min. of exercise which included a total for the week of:
30 min weights
28 min swimming
1 hr, 14 min running
1 hr, 13 min biking
45 min walking

I went on a bike ride yesterday morning outside my neighborhood and there were some killer hills. I would never have been able to sustain them before all this training. It is a great feeling to feel strong and fit, isn't it?!

I need to work on my running some more now. I've been letting myself quit too easily lately. I decide I'm tired and should just walk. I need to get that out of my head and keep going. I think a little quick break is fine to catch my breath, but I don't think I am trying hard enough sometimes to get through when it hurts and when I'm worn out and out of breath. Anyway, I know I am working hard, it's just something I noticed I am doing with the running lately and I need to get that negative voice out of my head!

Hope you all had a great weekend and will enjoy another nice day off tomorrow.

Another inspiring week of exercise! Great job on the killer hills and noticing improved fitness. I notice changes, too, on stairs and walking up hills. Makes me smile! Have a great day!

My energy levels wax and wane during my runs, too. Some days it is hard to push yourself. Maybe slow it down a little so you don't get winded. I stay between 5.5 and 6 mph and never run out breath, just feel it in my legs. Holiday weekends are brutal. No sense hiding under a rock, though. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. You're very disciplined about getting back on track right away. Good luck with the runs :-))
