Last night my boyfriend and I did a little more digging into Grimmy's (the dog's) owners. I posted on a community media site for anyone to tell the 2 homeless people, if they see them, to contact the paper for information on the dog. No luck, although someone commented to try behind the post office and underneath the bridge to try and find them. By the time my boyfriend and I arrived there, the train was taking off and there were no homeless people in site. We walked all around the area...

Our thoughts are that they went back to Alabama, where they were from, and left the dog in town in fear that they would miss the train. I am hoping they're not too upset about losing this dog. I would like them to know that he's in good hands and we're taking great care of him.

It seems like Grimmy has a rash of some sort in his crevices along with some pretty intense fleas. I scheduled him for a grooming appointment today, and the lady was so nice to do it for free because she knows of the story. (It's a small town.) Next step would be to take him to the Vet clinic for an overall check-up. Hopefully whatever ails Grimmy is fixable! :)

It's likely the that 'crevice' problem is related to the fleas. You are awesome. They may also have left the dog hoping that someone like you would end up with him. Keep us posted.

Gosh I hope so. Ya know, even though these people were homeless, they took decent care of him. He's well fed and well behaved. Some of his mannerisms are interesting. Example: He doesn't understand the concept of 'going outside'. He sits at the door and waits for me to bring him back in, haha. Thanks for following our story! :)
