197 today!! That was a nice number to see.

It amazes me though, how I am always focused on the next "achievement" feeling that lack of satisfaction when I know I should be exhilarated. How I compare myself to others instead of soaking in my own process. 197 still sounds sooo BIG!!! Yet, I feel different and I know I look different and I have accomplished much. I feel guilty about my own whining when I hear of others frustrations with their journey. Staying in the moment is not easy. Basically, it is a FULL TIME JOB!! LOL!! Breathe in and out, acceptance, "remember that each footstep isn't just a means to an end but a unique event in itself." I have lost an even 42 lbs since January 18th ... my goodness gracious ... that is certainly nothing to feel disappointed about. And ... overall (since 2004 and my highest known weight) I've actually lost (just a moment let me grab my calculator) ... 80 lbs.

So ... here's to me giving up on feeling "less than" and embracing what I have and what I am!!! I must admit ... I do FEEL GREAT!!! What is it my husband always says?? Oh yea, "get your mind right and your ass will follow"!!! LOL!!! Here's to me getting my mind right!! Have a great day!

I am so glad for you that you are staying under 200 :-). Good insight realizing you do not savor what you have accomplished.

Have you gotten Peaceful Warrior yet? When you do, pay attention to the day that they go for the long hike. It really shows how anticipation of a goal is even better than achieving it. Bear in mind that this ski slope loss that you are on will have to end at some point. Then what? Will there be another goal? Sure...but then you'll be right back on the journey...right? You have to enjoy the journey because honestly that is all there is...remember its the sides of the mountain where we spend our time.

I just read your post after my journal entry today and responding to yours from yesterday!! As I'm sure you've figured out by now, I watched Peaceful Warrior. The long hike is EXACTLY what stuck in my brain the most!! LOL!! The joy is in the journey not in the destination. Thanks for recommending the movie, it definitely was good for me to watch and think about. Indeed, some day I won't be losing any weight ... and then what? The journey continues, whether the scale decreases, increases, or stays the same. Life is so much more than when I weigh 175 lbs!! Thanks!!
