How much protein or carbs do we need in a day to lose weight? I keep finding different answers. I'm counting calories and trying to keep it simple. Any ideas??? I'm diabetic too (insulin).
Anything that can keep me from being so hungry would help too....Lol

It will calculate and let you everything that you need to know about how many grams a day you should have. Good Luck! Also it helps too if you could go see a nutritionist.. they can help you tremendously, especially having diabetes.. because you want to eat foods with a low glycemic index. I go by info I read in the Biggest Loser Calorie Counting Guide. You need 7 calories per pound of body weight to lose weight. For example, if you weigh 275, you need 1925 calories. 45% of your calories should come from carbohydrates, 30% from lean protein, and 25% from healthy fats. So that is 216g carbs, 144g protein, and 53g fat. (each gram of carbs & protein has 4 calories, each gram of fat has 9). Less than 1/3 of your fat (17g) should be saturated, and NO trans fat. You also need 25-35g fiber daily. I have lost 24 lbs since December following these guidelines, so I hope this helps you!
