jmb3450's Journal, 28 June 2014

It's a busy day today, took a bunch of stuff to the recycle center, went plant shopping with the wife, have been doing a brake job on her car for a while now, just got back with more parts...after market parts are cheaper but you take a chance and so far I've had problems with mis-matched threads on stuff but I think I've got it worked out now. Taking a little break, sneaking in a light beer (I'll log it). Once the car is done I've got grass to mow, weeds to pull, and then dinner on the grill, not a bad day at all.

According to the scale I'm still 1/2 lb over my low weight of last week. But as has been mentioned there are other ways to measure progress. The work jeans I'm wearing are 40's and without a belt they just about fall off my butt if I'm not careful, haven't had them that loose before so I consider that a plus and indicator that things are heading in the right direction.

My friend Brett is doing better, thanks to everyone who has prayed or sent good thoughts his way. Some more amazing stuff from my perspective that I won't go into detail about here, if anyone wants details send me a message to my inbox and I'll gladly tell more. More prayers for his complete healing are needed, thanks again to all. Hoping everyone is having a good Saturday and making the best day possible.

You deserve the light beer. I had one yesterday too. Bud Select. My strategy is to "chase it" with water. You know what? I forgot all about including that beverage in my "Yesterday's Food" list. He-he-he-he! Cheers!

Get a kettle of hot water and just pour it on the weeds, and your work is done, and or mix water and vinegar and put in a spray bottle and spray. Make sure you don't spray any other plants as it will kill it. Great job on losing and hoping your friend Brett a speedy recovery.

Hot water on the weeds is a good idea and would work in places where nothing else good is growing. My wife poured boiling water on a place in our yard where ants had a nest. It didn't really have an affect on the nest, only killed the ants at the surface. But it sure did kill the grass.
