So, this is my first journal entry. So far, i've been doing ok on Atkins. There have been a few slip ups, mainly for celebrating birthdays. I made red velvet cupcakes and chocolate lava cakes. but i didn't go all crazy on them like I would have before. I haven't had many days at all actually where I cheated. If I do cheat though, it's usually on the weekend, but just one meal, and right back on track. But I'm not going to do that this weekend. I'm tired of feeling guilty. I like being able to enter all my food into the journal and actually feel happy that I did what I was supposed to. Today I had a pizza pot (or at least what I call it) for lunch. I added everything I put into it to the food diary, and it doesn't look like I'm over my carbs, but maybe there's just too much salt in italian sausage and mozzarella. I feel crappy. or kinda greasy. lol. I'm hoping everything was still on plan. Take a look if you'd like and give me feedback. It's usually welcome :) I'm drinking as much water as I can. The majority of it is at work, it's just easier. I've had 6 glasses so far. Going to bingo tonight...and i'll definitely be staying away from all the junk food there. Hopefully I'll win, which will make me feel better about missing out on some really good nachos. lol. I guess I should get back to work....that's all for now.

Hi Cobby! I just started Atkins this week. :) I took a look at a couple of days in your food diary, and it looks like you are Super Low on your veggies. We're supposed to get 12-15 net carbs from the approved lists. I don't think tomato sauce counts, but even if you added it, you're still really low. For breakfast I have started adding 1/4 ounce onion and a clove of garlic - that's over 1 NC right there! You said you're feeling kind of greasy (although that might just be today, haha), but I find that spinach really helps me. If you aren't losing you might want to cut back on the cheese - some people say they don't lose if they eat it, even though we're allowed 3-4 ounces a day. I think if you add some veggies you will feel much better overall. I know I do. Have fun at B-I-N-G-O! :)

Thanks for the advice :) I'm trying to add more veggies. I usually don't eat all that much cheese, today was a lot though. I try to eat a cucumber a day, 1/2 an avocado, some french onion soup (homemade, lots of onion) and a very large salad during lunch. It's usually about 3 cups of romaine with a few other things thrown in. I definitely need to work a little more on it though. Good luck since you just started. Any progress yet? and FYI....I lost horribly at bingo. lol
