GogglesPaesano's Journal, 28 February 2011

Had a great weekend but went a little overboard on the calorie intake. My wife and parents surprised me with a celebration for passing the CPA exam back in November. So there was quite a buffet spread as well as alcohol at the party. Being that I've been good lately I had to celebrate and indulge a bit. Also had a dual birthday celebration to go to yesterday so it was difficult to stay completely away from eating some things that are not in my diet plan. But I did get plenty of complements from people who hadn't seen me since Christmas. Down just about 20 lbs from then, people were shocked at how my appearance has changed in just 8 weeks. FatSecret works and I promoted it all weekend long.

Congratulations all around, Paesano!!! I passed my final part of the Can't Pass Again Exam in 2006. It was like a load off my chest back then. I passed two parts on the paper based exam (Law and Audit) and two on the computer (Regulation and Financial). I basically took Law twice and didn't have to do the Econ part. Congrats on your progress too. What a difference!!!

Studying for that exam in 2010 pretty much ruled out any time to go to the gym so it was my goal this year to drop the 15 lbs I added last year and then lose the additional 25 I had added somehow over the past 10-15 years. I guess the metabolism change as you get older really crept up on me. I was eating less and less but by not exercising nearly as much the last 3 years my weight just kept creeping up. But all that stops this year! Thanks for the congrats, it's been a long road but a very worthwhile journey!

I know that feeling. I remember reading half a chapter in the Becker review books when I did cardio, but it helped only marginally. I was reviewing accounting stuff, but the key to passing lies within the practice questions. Glad to see you've started making a dent in the "additional" 25. Keep it up.
