Deep joy! Kitty has just brought me a present of a live vole and its legging it round our living room so fast that neither she nor I can catch it. It must be spring because the clocks here went forward at the weekend and I've been brushing down the cobwebs, washing curtains and blinds, shaking mats and cleaning windows. At least its good exercise.

I've got over the doldrums after my visit to g daughter down south and weight seems to be moving down nicely again. It took me a week to get off what I put on while away. I have decided this is what I'll have to do when I go away as I've no control over what I'm served. I do try to limit portions but I still gain but it comes off again quickly if I get straight back on track..

FIL not quite as bad as I expected from what I'd heard but he really does need some more full time care. He has someone who goes in first thing in the morning to help him dress and wash etc. for about an hour but after that he's on his own, unable to get about or look after himself properly. It takes him about 2 hours to get ready for bed. I do worry about him but can do nothing.

Stress is building for OH's visit to the hospital in 10 days time for his check up. If this one is OK it will be 6 months next time. I'm keeping everything I've got crossed.

We've bought him a new suit for the wedding and he looks very trim in it. Just have to make sure he stays that way. He lost about 40 lbs when he was ill and keeping it off is difficult for him. Just shirt and tie and sox next and that's him sorted.

Weather here has been super for the last week although there is still a stiff breeze, and 61 is forecast for the weekend. Buds are bursting, lambs skipping, hares boxing and the deer are chomping the farmers crops with a vengeance. We usually only get the little Roe deer but this morning there was a big chap with a good set of antlers calling this morning. He was magnificent The extra hour of daylight in the evening since the clocks went forward for summertime last weekend makes everything seem so much better.

Exercise is going well. I've managed to walk or swim every day since I got home. I caught sight of myself in a shop window the other day and wasn't quite sure it was me and had to go and walk past again just to make sure :). I am really pleased with how I'm looking now and it can only get better! All in all things are looking good.
