Well ... it is snowing here ... AGAIN. We must have at least 6 new inches on the ground. I know because I just finished shoveling a path to the wood shed and to the satellite dish so we could get a connection. It's not super cold but it sure looks like winter outside. It will be fun driving to work tomorrow, snow on top of mud, oh joy!!! It is what it is. The bummer is we were supposed to go shooting today ... so much for that idea. And ... hubby will no doubt get called into work again tonight. Poor guy ... he didn't get home until 6 this morning!

On the healthy eating front I'm feeling really good today. My buddy Jim took a look at my exercise and food calendars and did some fancy calculations to look at my rate of loss and what I could consume and still lose weight, based on REAL numbers instead of a calorie calculator (let's see ... Jim the Calorie Calculator!! ... cute!!). The number he came up with from my numbers was 2790 calories. That is very awesome. Makes me realize in a concrete way that I will be able to enjoy eating and maintain my weight. I have been working on increasing calories and though I haven't increased them much I have been getting closer to 1400 a day ... and really paying attention to eating when I am hungry. It feels good. I feel good. Thanks Jim!!!

Next weekend Bob and I are spending a night on the town. At first I was kind of dreading eating out, worried about what if I don't get my exercise, being rather obsessive about it (but not mentioning that to Bob ... not wanting to put a damper on things). Now, although there is a little leeriness, I'm actually looking forward to it. It will be one of my first ventures into practicing what I've been preaching here ... balance.

So ... another day!! Be kind to yourselves and keep putting one foot in front of the other. We can all take better care of us when we are ready to!!

It sounds like you have a plan that is going to work for you. :-)

Your plan sounds good, and hearing that you "feel good" is even more important. I am trying to remember how good I felt when I was in control of my eating and getting lighter -- it DID feel really good. I am starting anew this week and am encouraged that I lost 1.5 lbs. even though I wasn't trying too hard this week (Spring Break). Thanks for your encouraging comments earlier.

Maren ... your welcome for the encouraging comments ... that is why we are here ... not just for ourselves but really to support each other. I find a GREAT benefit is having a community of like-minded folks I too can encourage. Fantastic that you lost 1.5 lbs. without really trying!!! That should certainly motivate you to continue!!

Hey Hey glad you liked the calculations. I thought the 2790 might surprise you and this is one of the benefits of counting all the Kcals and estimating exercise. Even if you are not hitting the numbers you want it will give you real data to look at. Keep it up and slow it down if you need to. I just got back from a 12 mile ride on the bike and really feel for you with the snow...for me that would make outdoor exercise a real challenge. Stay warm. Jim

Fortunately the snow melted quickly!! It's nearly 40 degrees out ... almost shorts weather, ha! ha! Not much outdoor exercise going on here. I do have cross country skis but just haven't been in the mood, plus it's a little on the icy side this time of year. Glad you got out for a great bike ride!!
