I've been avoiding weighing daily, too much self pressure on seeing the scale number go down.

Two weeks later, I am down.

I managed to not violate the calorie rule.

Yay me!
246.6 lb Lost so far: 3.4 lb.    Still to go: 61.6 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 1.6 lb a week

i said i would weigh myself once a week too, but i can't. I find myself sneaking to take a peek at least once a day... so, very good of you, if you can! keep up the good work!

Weighing too often can be discouraging, if longer times between weigh-ins works than that's the thing to do. The most important thing is sticking to your plan as you go. Congrats on the loss!
