MissNomerz's Journal, 02 April 2014

So I lost my voice on Saturday night, which can be a serious issue since I work with phones. Thankfully I had Sunday and Monday to rest it a bit and when I came back to work on Tuesday I could somewhat use my voice but it was a bit rough. Coming in today I'm feeling quite a bit better (albeit sleepy since I took Nyquill last night in hopes it would help my voice situation) and my voice is almost back to normal.
I'm restating that I haven't weighed myself in quite a while so I can't be certain if any progress has been made but the number of friends and family who have noticed a difference in my overall dimensions have been helping to give me a bit of motivation.
I went to "Goodwill" on Monday and tried on this beautiful slinky red dress that when I first looked at it I told my brother (who I had dragged along to see if I could find him some new t shirts) "It's too bad this dress is so small, something like that would be perfect for getting Mom to keep up with her walking and watching what she's eating" (I started this whole weight-loss thing in an attempt to motivate/support my mom since she recently had a breast reduction surgery and is having body image problems)
Then I looked at the tag on the dress and saw that it was one of the sale items for that day and got a tiny bit more excited, thinking about how I might be able to corset the back instead of having the zipper and still use it for my intended purposes. That's the only reason I looked at the brand tag and saw that it was a size 8.
Womens' clothing sizes have always been difficult for me to really grasp. They don't have actual inch values unless we're talking about bras so the sizes vary so much that I rarely trust a tag. This time I was happy to give it a shot, although I knew that at best it was a rather small size 8, and in a few cases I couldn't fit into small 10's. Imagine my surprise when it fit *like a glove* and the only thing I had trouble with in the dressing-room was getting the zipper up past my breasts (when your ribcage measurement is 34, having a D/DD cup causes a few issues with fit).
I rarely fit into the female stereotype of getting really excited about dresses and the like, but I just about danced around in the dressing room. That single strapless, red, floor-length dress absolutely made my day and came home with me.
I'm still sleepy at work and having trouble staying awake, but I have some berries and olives to snack on next to my big bottle of water. Even the hoarse girl at the call center has something to smile about ^.^
I hope your days go well too! Thinking about the positive can make our sleepy days less dreary and more dreamy~
