Nothing related to food, calories etc, I just want to know how people manage to express how they feel in everyday life. I've always had trouble with telling people how I feel and trapping in my feelings and emotions and putting a smile on my face

you've taken the first step. communicating your issue means understanding you have one. Keep on doing what you are doing one sentence at a time. Write down how you feel here on this site if you want. But don't feel obliged to everyday. This is a marathon and not a sprint. No one will judge you here

Can't agree more luvta, in these times we need to express how we feel, even if it not diet associated. One good thing about FS is you always have someone to talk to and not just about weight! If you want we feel alone reach out, as problems are always better solved with 2people rather than one. Look after yourself beautiful and I agree you have a lovey smile x

If writhing how you feel is easier than talking use that as you form of expression, you will fined a lot of people will to listen, and build friendship you can expand upon.

I hold it in and build it up too...sometimes to protect others than myself. Then usually ever couple of months it all comes falling out and I cry over the silliest things! I try to walk with just my little one..or time reading or being creative/exercising to balance the extremities. Eating well, cold showers and fresh air...give me an extra kick! lol! good.luck on your journey and let it out..we are all human and perfectly imperfect.💝

I’m not sure tbh, it’s a bit of a cultural problem. Sometimes we think that expressing our emotions will burden others or make us seem weak. It’s great chatting on here, people can remain anonymous if they want to and everyone is very supportive. What I’ve learned by opening up is that confiding in others actually makes them feel valued. People like me feel closer to you because you have shared something and we can relate, so thank you 🤗

You say it’s not food related but ( & I can only speak from my own personal experiences ) it probably is ! I’m a ‘ People Pleaser’ , I find it hard to open up , to say no to people , to say if someone has hurt me or been unkind . I then behind closed doors have been sad , disappointed or frustrated with myself & food has become a comfort . I have found sending a message or txt to someone saying ‘ actually I can’t do that’ , ‘ I’m not sure you’re aware but what you said has hurt me ‘ or ‘ I know I said I was fine but actually I’m not ‘ , etc has helped me & I have got better about saying directly to someone now , but I’m still not great ! I’ve found out it’s all about balance & if you’re not happy are tense/ stressed then the scales can quite literally tip ! It’s a good thing you have shared this with us here & this is your first step . Good luck with your journey . X

Hey ABI,,start by letting it all out to yourself,,get the tunes on and boogie round the house, paint angry red and black or finger paint unicorns, go a good stomp round the block, write in a journal either diary style or poems,,start learning how to get it out then hopefully it will make it easier to let it out to others! Always make time for yourself to decompress and learn how to say NO ❤️
