Lizzie983's Journal, 26 March 2014

Hey buddies,

A short journal since I am still working (it's 21.30 here in Germany).

Had no time to hit the gym, but at least today I went for a 1 hour walk downtown, before dinner.

Today I start again my "special" diet, since digestive problems and other issues are back (more details the next days, since this time I have a better view of what happens in my belly :) ).

The special diet consists of no sugars, in any way. Only one allowed is lactose.
No pasta, no rice, no bread, no sweets, no fruit.
Whole rye bread and crackers, meat, fish, veggies, fresh cheese are allowed. Fats (butter, olive oil, nuts) are also allowed, in a moderate way.

No fried food, no junk food, no sugars, low carbs.
As I remember from last time, after the first week I will start starving, then I will feel nervous as hell and feel the need of eating whatever sugar I find around me.
Around the 3rd or 4th week I will adapt.

Main purpose of this diet is to restore the "good" bacteria in my belly and kill the "bad" ones, which love sugar.
As a side effect, it will make me leaner, and it does not hurt, since I will have less pain in my back and will get rid of the extra kilos I got on last year.

Can't wait to present my results next week and hit the climbing gym!!!! :)

Life is good!

What a great comment from you this morning. It sounds as if you are in a good and "balanced" place in your life right now. I do understand the social network downfall too. My husband and I (at my request) had to stop accepting every invite that came our way. I had to evaluate it concerning the food/alcohol that was to be there and also my energy level. He can go day and night but I can't and he is older So we compromise on our activities and he understands now how important it is for me to get healthy and he sees my commitment this time. I have led him down this road many times only to stop eating healthy after a few months and then gaining my weight back again with no regard to my health. BUT NOW I have lost 55 lbs since Aug 2012 and have kept it off (except for yo-yoing 4 lbs since Thanksgiving). I want to lose 15-20 more therefore I am again being selective about our social invites because it is just too hard to be good when I put myself in every social situation out there. But I want to say, that the Lord through prayer is how I was able to lose the 55. It was one of the hardest tasks for me to do and so many times I just had to turn it over to Him, meal by meal, which is what I need to do again because I am again having a hard time reducing my weight versus maintaining it. I love talking to you and others on this site, it is so inspiring to have people truly understand the struggle.
