FOUR WEEKS UNTIL EASTER: Time for some updates on my own personal Easter goal. Due to my recent waffling, I have only lost 4 of the 12 pounds. Yikes! I honestly didn't realize just how poorly I was doing :(

That means that I will have to lose 8 pounds in only 4 weeks. Hey folks, this is doable and I am going for it!

Anyone else want to share? Please see comments below:

I'm down 9.4 pounds and I'm right on track. However, my original goal was 20. I suffered with a stomach flu for 2 weeks that caused me to miss out on 4 pounds of my goal. But I believe I will make the 12, and I'm fine with that! Thanks for poking us for an update!

mrsmole - I think you have done great - especially not letting that serious illness completely throw you off track. Bet you'll be looking fabulous in your Easter Bonnet :)

Hey Buffy, that's why I wanted you as a buddy. lol. Don't be too hard on yourself but give yourself a prod if you think it's necessary. It IS doable but it will be hard work. But just think, it is only four weeks. That flies by. Also, I usually find that if I give myself deadlines, I set myself up to fail. What helps me is kind of fantasising about how great I will look or what I can wear etc. It motivates me. I lost 12 pounds in five weeks and let me tell you Buffy, I am a lazy couch potato who loves to eat and drink

At least you lost something. I am perpetually stuck at 71/72kg range and can't get the numbers down unless I really like starve myself but then it comes back anyway. In the past few days I up-ed my workout to 700 calories a workout so hopefully that will help.

Buffy101 - Appreciate your encouragement. So if one Buffy lost 12 pounds in 5 weeks, why can't this Buffy lose 8 pounds in 4 weeks? This is happening!

P.S. BB: You are a whole lot closed to your goal than some of the rest of us, so please bear in mind that the closer you get, the tougher it is. Be proud of what you've done so far and if you get another 4, then woo hoo! Although if you want to "go for it" we are behind you!

You cannot control the weight, just the actions you take to loose weight. They have a guidelines for making good goals: RUMBA: test your goal to "Reasonable, Understandable, Measurable, Behaviourable, Attainable" --- i suggest an example rumba-goal for BB: eat less then 1200 kcal each day and working out for at least 30 min. a day for 7 days straight.

Puhpine - Love "RUMBA"! Thanks for introducing me to the concept. BTW - I also like your plan.

Ninakinn - Sorry to hear you are "stuck". Hope you can discover something that will kick you off that plateau.

mrsmole - I like the way you look at it things. I've already lost 49 pounds and only have 25 pounds more to go. Of course I need to work harder!

Just thinking. The trainer I saw and my doc's nurse (he works out) suggested doing interval cardio as a way of building my lung function. Bring it up to the target rate from my stress test for just a few minutes then back down. If you aren't doing any interval cardio maybe that would make a difference. Of course I'm no expert.....:)

oh buffy.... I tho't I was the only one losing... I mean not losing the 1 lb per week I'd hoped to lose. I started out good but then surged upward. .... Today I'm down only down 3.4 from my starting weight. ... If you really think 2 lbs a week is doable... I'm in... WE CAN DO IT!! You've given me the confidence to do it.

I am down another 1.5 lbs., but boy were they hard-earned. I hurt everywhere and it's stupid because I don't do crazy hard workouts. It's just this stupid old injury and spinal scar tissue. Sorry, BuffyBear! So glad you are getting motivation from everyone else to add to your own. I know you can do it, but like MrsMole said, if you lose another 4 lbs. in the final 4 weeks, that will be great too.

wholefoodnut - Great suggestion. Will go online for ideas - in the past I've found some excellent sites and think I remembered to bookmark them.

dboza - It is only 2.15 pounds a week. I'm thinking if we put our best game forward we CAN do this! Even if we can't, think how great we'll feel having lost another 4 - 5 pounds!

Gillian - Yes, you have worked hard for it. Hope things get easier for you soon.
