mrsmole's Journal, 21 March 2014

You were right! Each and every one of you who said that the bloating was just water, that it would all go away. Two days ago, I started feeling more like myself, my digestive system got back to normal for the most part, and low and behold, in 3 days, I lost 3.5 pounds, and it was all water from my poor, bloated belly. I went from a 51" wast to 47" in 3 days. Unreal.

It will take a few days to normalize and figure out where I'm supposed to be. My original goal was supposed to be 225 by the end of March, but I was so far ahead of that goal, it was looking like 222 by the end of March. Now I will be thrilled with anything in between that range.

Those numbers represent an 8 pound loss per month, or just under 2 pounds per week over the past 6 months, an amount my doctor didn't want me to exceed by too much, but also didn't want me to drag my butt on, either.

I'm so happy to be back on track after two weeks at the same weight in spite of no cheating.

Thanks again for all the support. I'm ready for my big night at the speech contest tonight weighing less than I ever have!

2lbs is miraculous. 1lb a week would be a dream for me. When working the program for a while, even tenths of a lb. make your day. Finally coming to terms that the slower the better. Notice when I do go off, I can lose any weight gained in a few days when back on track. Keep up the good work.

So glad you're feeling better. Glad to see you've 'normalized'. If you'd have said you were back to normal, I would have called you on it. :D Nah, even you can be normal, Dom. As I like to say 'Normal is just the currently accepted level of insanity'. --- Rocker. I was frustrated by how slow the weight loss got too. Patience and acceptance are the key. Don't do what I did with that velocity diet. I think I lost muscle mass over us. Guys tend to be more impatient than women - especially when you guys are putting on your makeup. Somehow we still manage to be last out the door though.

Whoohoo!!!! You are going to ROCK this speech tonight with your bad a*$ self, lol. Your spanks won't be working as hard, either, so you might actually be able to breathe! I'm so relieved that this GI business didn't put as big of a wrench into your progress as you thought.

Thanks for all the well wishes, everyone! I'm an hour away from leaving for the contest. Hair colored this morning: Check! Hair styled by a pro: Check! Still taking pills and feeling "normal-ish": Check! Came up with a new joke for my speech: Check! ("Wait a minute! Did my husband just tell me I had to lose 100 pounds? In what Universe does a husband tell his wife she's fat and still be alive? Okay, he technically didn't call me "fat" - he didn't use the "F" word, but still!"). Arranged for video of speech: Check! All seems well.
