DO YOU INTERMITTENT FAST?

I fast every other day. And would like to find others who fast as well. I do a water fast, but I do have some calories on the fast under 400 calories. My fasting window is 36 hours. Last fast (yesterday) I lost 1.6 lbs. Just need a few people to bounce off of and encourage, so they can encourage me.

I use water fast as a cleanse. Atm I can't safely with the meds I'm on. I think it can be very healthy done correctlyband hope you find some others..

KIMREED, its an amazing experience. You learn from it. At least for me, how to manage hunger. A true fast is to take in calorie free beverages for the duration of the fast. However, I have under 400 calories the day of my fast, its mostly of fat. You wanna try a 16/8 fast to start? You fast for 16 hours and your eating window is 8 hours. OR you can try 24 hour fast. Say your last meal is at 6 pm. You do not eat again until 6 pm the next day. I personally do a 36 hour fast, I get up eat nothing, go to bed and the next day I eat a normal day. Last fast I lost 1.6 lbs.

DEBORAH, It sounds simple enough in theory. Hahahahahaha - I am going to be serious and try to get through 'my first fast' Saturday. I chose this day to mentally prepare and psych myself into it. Thank you so much for the information and also the opportunity to try this new challenge. Fingers crossed!!

KIMREED, the first fast is the hardest. Its mentally challenging cause you want to eat. So have what you need in your house to keep you on tract. This is what I have. You may choose to do strict water. But for me I have sugar free popsicles, 15 cal. Not more than 3 in a fast OR sugar free jello. Diet pop, (not the healthiest for you but its allowed), herbal tea, coffee w/ heavy whipping cream no more than 3 cups and or 3 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream. Too, sugar free coffee syrup for sweetener in coffee. I spread these out during the day. Its where the fat comes from. Its about 385 calories. No food at all. Which will you do? And GREAT IDEA pick a stress free day! Weigh the morning before the fast, and again the morning after the fast.

DEBORAH, I was just about to ask you how I would get the fat necessary to fast correctly. You read my mind. LOL - I am going to do the 24 hour fast. It seems like the simplest way to start. I made a list of the things I don't have on hand and will get to the grocery store today. I am super jazzed and have my fingers crossed. My boyfriend said "you'll be grouchy", Hahahahahahaha!! :O/

LOL, ya I get grouchy, the coffee w/ heavy whipping cream helps. I add the sugar free syrup for flavor and sweetness. The sugar free popsicles is called Popsicle Sugarfree Tropicals. They have 4 carbs, but 2 are sugar alcohols. The 2 sugar alcohols do not affect blood sugar the the NET carb for each popsicle is 2. You want ZERO carbs in your heavy whipping cream. Sugar free jello has 0 carbs. You want your calories under 500, the heavy WC has 50 calories per tablespoon so figure out how many you want to have in the day. I usually have just three, so I have calories left for my popsicles and jello. I try to have only 3 total of these. Like 2 popsicles and 1 jello. Longest fast I ever did was 76 hours. Have done it three times. only one teaspoon miso paste in hot water per day. Surprising how hunger comes and goes. 2nd day is the toughest and then it's downhill.
