Oh, Squiggs are you eating enough fat?

I am logging everything I eat. It's all in my journal down to the last gram/oz. My thoughts about eating even more rat is that it means less food overall which means I might get even hungrier?

Actually the more fat, the less hunger, Squiggs. Fat is very satiating. Try adding some butter, heavy cream, olive oil, and yep, SOME mayo (lol) to your diet daily! It will help with the hunger...So if you make some chicken, pan fry it in butter, add butter to your veggies, and your eggs in the mornin, add heavy cream to your coffee...it will help, and it doesn't take alot to help stave off the hunger.

I guess part of it is also that I wake up around 5.45am if not earlier and go to bed at 10.45pmish. I have to eat every 3 hours or so which means my meals can't be very big at all. I did add mayo to my lettuce salad today, a measly 10 grams which didn't do a thing yet cost a LOT of calories LOL. I would like to be one of these people that can do what Atkins said and just eat till satisfied and eat when hungry but the Mayo incident proves that I can't I guess....

And if I don't eat something just before bed I wake up ravenous around 3am LOL. Stupid body!

I found that hot beverages helped a lot when I was on Atkins. Tea w/ heavy cream, coffee w/ heavy cream, etc., whenever I got hungry that seemed to help. It's like the heat sent messages to my brain to tell my tummy to stop being hungry.

I always save a little something to have before I go to bed...usually a yogurt.

That could be worth a try - even in summer LOL. I do like my hot chocolates now that I can have cocoa again.... I did accidentally have a too warm protein shake the other day and it was nasty LOL

What yogurt are you eating Stef? I didn't think we could have yogurt. ~tig

How do you manage to eat the yoghurt and eat under the 20 grams? I am wondering if I eat too much broccoli/cauliflower in one go - I have 200 grams each time I have it...

I eat a low carb yogurt that is made by Kroger called Carbmaster. it has about 60-80 calories and 4 grams of carbs.

It depends if you are doing total or net carbs, Squiggs. If you are doing net, then that is about 8 grams of carbs...if you are doing total then that is about 13.5 grams, but there should still be plenty of room for fat, as it is very low in calories. I have a great faux rice (grated cauliflower) and broccoli recipe in my cookbook that has plenty of fat, low in calories, and low in carbs.

I looked and can't see it - what is the title? Going to only have 100 grams of cauli for dinner - will be a stupid little amount but hey LOL. Getting kinda desperate :p

Sorry I forgot to hit share!..You should be able to see it now, it is called Faux Broccoli Rice Casserole.

Squiggs, when I got hungry I did the same as jennie, I drunk hot drinks with cream and it did help!

I wish I could find that Carbmaster Yogurt. I can't find it anywhere around here. I just found out too that they have discontinued the Fat Cow Greek Yogurt. I was so POed!!!!! I love my yogurt too and now can't get any. :(:( Squiggs, I totally agree with Stef, fats will keep your hunger at bay. Sure hope that hunger monster leaves you alone. Have a great day.:)
