chryssm's Journal, 01 March 2014

I was sitting here and realized I had never changed out of my workout clothes. I just bought these in january and they were reallllllllly tight. I never measured myself when I started this in january but I did measure a few weeks ago ( feb 10 ) . So anyway the reason I noticed I hadnt changed was that they were comfortable and not so tight around my waist. Soooooooooo I measured again. I lost 2 inches off my waist ... 1 inch off each thigh ... and 1 inch off each upper arm. I am so overjoyed right now . That is 6 inches total. It totally amazes me the difference in 20 pounds which didnt seem like so much but really it is. I cant wait to see the changes with the next 20 pounds and the 20 after that , etc ... I knew my clothes were fitting differently but seeing the numbers really really excited me. All this work is working ... I feel so much better everyday and now my body is changing. There's no stopping me now : )

I agree it's amazing what differences 20pounds can create. I wish I could find my measurement record when I started this journey. I'm curious.

I wish I had thought to do my measurements when I started in january. I think I am gonna buy myself a small journal to record my weights and measurements in and maybe throw in some pictures along the way. I am sure that looking thru it every now and then would be some major motivation to keep on moving on this journey. I know I dont want to return to where I was.

I have bought some WONDERFUL workout clothes, in bright colors and black too. I decided if I'm going to do it, I'm going to dress the part. Got some new at stores at great prices, and some used on eBay once I figured out my size and what I liked. They are motivators for me to go to Curves and to just get out and walk, like I did yesterday.

Download the Cartwheel app that's specifically for Target. I got a ton of yoga pants and sports bras that were discounted through the app that you can't get anywhere else. It's a great tool for whenever you shop at Target because you can scan whatever it is you're wanting to buy and see if it's one of the discounted offers... sometimes 25%!

Awesome!! I haunt thrift shops on Wednesday senior discounts. Several have workout clothes sections. Have found some pants that I can even wear to work, comfy and makes for a quicker change at the gym. Don't want to spend much on clothes, not much in the budget, especially if I'm planning on shrinking out of them. Lol. Makes me feel better to wear clothes that fit. I do buy New Balance shoes but online at joe's new balance outlet.

I will have to check out the app joy , thanks ... I just bought some stuff at walmart the other day purely by accident. There was a bunch of that danskin brand stuff on a clearance rack and I got shirts and zipup hoodie type jackets for $3 each.
