2ManyCurves's Journal, 21 February 2014

I thought the scale was wrong this morning, so I weighed myself about ten times. I even switched it to Kgs and weighed, then back to pounds. Same weight. Ha. Imagine that. I did drink a lot of unsweetened tea last night, which made it difficult to sleep. Very proud to finally see the 170s.

I had vowed not to journal until I reached the 170s. Less talk, more action. During that time, I realized I am completely incapable of running more than five miles at a time on a treadmill inside a gym. I need fresh air and something to look at besides a television and a wall. So, I promptly cancelled the gym membership after a mere two days with the hope that the weather would improve or at least be ice-free. This action coincided with receiving my new Garmin in the mail. I do have the stationary cycle to use on days the weather is too bad, plenty of free weights, a billion zumba/aerobic tapes (some of which are still in the cellophane wrapper) and a yoga mat so that I can plank all day. My challenge to myself is to not drink alcohol at all before March 1st. It does a number on water retention, as much as I do enjoy sitting back and relaxing with a glass of sangria on Friday evenings. I'm also closely watching the carbs over the next week. Per Dietbet, I must be at 178.3 as of March 1st. I think I may well do it even with a rough start to the first part of this month.

May the diet Gods smile down on you all today!

You are AWESOME gal! As I started reading your entry, I expected this was going to be one of those "I can't believe I gained that much weight!" posts, but YAY! What ever your doing, keep it up! I'm hoping I'm losing again since I started PT last week, but I only weigh on Sunday AM's, so have to wait a bit to find out. If I weigh more than once a week I find I slip into a pattern of either splurging or cutting back too much depending on what the scale says. You're wise to cancel your gym membership, outside exercising is much better if you're able. Be careful though, my SIL broke her ankle a couple of weeks ago walking her dog on an unshoveled sidewalk. When she tried to get up, her goofy dog thought she was playing with him & knocked her down again. Crazy aminal! This sounds funny now, but I'm sure it wasn't funny to her at the time. Best of luck as you continue to your weight goal. Be careful out there, & have an awesome day. Glammer

Just commit to exercise no matter in what shape or form! Commit commit commit, and some of us do need a gym, some can handle themselves without help. Good for you!

Gym memberships are such a dicey thing. My husband can't get the kind of workout he needs at home, so when he pays for the gym, he is super motivated to get the most out of it. Me, not so much. I could do twice a week, but that was it. I like walking outside as well, and then I do work-out tapes at home with my free weights and therapy bands. I have found various excuses for not always doing as much as I should, but that is true of the gym as well. Congrats on getting into the 170s. I hope to be there by Easter.

I envy all of you that have the ability to commit to excersising at home. I need the gym. I stay motivated and go monday thru friday after work for an hour and a half, but at home it would be 5 min. Go all of you.
