Birthday parties are bad!!!

I tried so hard to be good. The only thing healthy to eat was some fruit. I had a very small portion of everything I had, but a very small portion of bad stuff doesn't really justify anything...

Remind me next time to bring a subway sub or something to the next b-day party!! That's not rude is it??

Man oh man, I have a feeling it's going to take me a day or so to fix what I did at dinner!! But, I still feel good about where I am and am not giving up just because I fudged on one meal.

These shin splints however, are becoming the bain of my existence. They have not kept me from doing the exercise I need, but they are keeping me from pushing myself as hard as I want! I don't know, maybe that's a good thing. My muscles are very fatigued and I took a 2 hour nap today (I never nap!! Seems like a waste of time that I could be getting something accomplished...)

I started napping when I first got sick with the mito disorder, and then once I was on the supplements and not working I started to feel a little more like my old self and didn't need the naps... I don't like it one bit.

That TOM is determined to do me in, but I will not have it!!!! With the mito disease, my muscles are always weaker during that TOM. And since I am pushing them beyond what I can usually do when they are weak, now the twitching has started. I guess it's time to step off a little and let them rest and reload, but I am just so afraid of losing this momentum!! I like seeing a different number on the scale everyday. Grrrr....

So, at a cross roads, I'll just push through it, trust God to get me back on track and do the best I can.

Have you tried Baclofen? I take that for my spasms, and it works great with me (and the Chiari's). Have they done a CINE study on you? Possibly the ACM is causing the Mito to be worse than if you weren't plugged up (lol)? I have my spasms because of my Chiari's... the fluid putting pressure on various parts of my brain.

I have a muscle relaxant that works pretty well, but when I take it I have to be prepared to collar up because my neck is to weak to hold up my head and then I have a nasty headache... But, it's not a daily maintenance drug like baclofen. I haven't tried that one. I'm a nurse, and we gave to all our kids with CP at the hospital I used to work at. I tried Skelaxin, didn't do anything. Usually if I stop and rest them when it stats up then it will stop. It feels like they are hooked up to electric currents and they are firing all across my legs. Weird. Thanks for the advice. I will have to ask my doc about it. =)

Oh, in my studies it showed a 60 % blockage when I am laying down, but the thought was that since my muscles are weak, when I am upright the head "settles" and blocks even more. When I lay down at night I can hear and feel the fluid rushing in the back of my head like an unclogged faucet...

Oh god I hate that! Or when you get up, you feel like a filled water balloon with all the water shifting around?!? Ug. And man don't try to flip your hair when you're having a heavy head day, lol. My question is (my current one, lol)have they considered a shunt or something that allows the fluid to drain? Like I said, I do have pretty sever spasms at times, but it's BECAUSE of the fluid being corked in my head. If they did decompression on you, or even just a shunt, do they feel it would not help the mito?
