Good Morning, FS Warriors! Got on the scale this morning and it said, "You're hurting me!" That was it for me, back to logging and excercising. Got to thinking, I've put on an additional 27 pounds over the past 18 years. Oh, there have been lots of ups and downs, but isn't it amazing how comfortable we can get with our weight when it comes on so slow over time? DW put strawberries and a piece of shortcake, in a sandwich bag, in my lunch. I took the shortcake back out. Sugar is not my nemesis, but carbs are, and the shortcake had the excess of both.

Going to hit the treadmill every evening, and as much of the video workout as I can untill I'm back up to running at least three miles at a time again. It seems that DW and I are never on the same page when it comes to weight loss, when she's losing weight, I'm gaining, and vice versa. Two days ago, she brought home 3 boxes of plain doughnuts and a box of mixed sugary and chocolate ones. She's apparently on the eating binge now, Guess it's my turn for weight loss. She lost like 60 pounds; she remarked yesterday evening that if she keeps eating like she is, she's going to gain it all back. Duh! I think we've kind of figured out how this thing works.

Glad it's Friday. No relief from the cold for at least 3 or 4 days. I've got to make some pens for this upcoming auction. That means I'll be stoking up the wood stove in the workshop and keeping busy. Hope everyone has a wonderful and warm weekend. If you've got to be out in the cold, do it with skis or skates. Toodles!

Where are you? I'm in KY and it's freezing here too! Not exactly motivation for getting out and moving. Hope your weekend goes well. Sounds like you're off to a good start.

I'm in Central Illinois, though I think the whole country has gone bonkers with this cold spell. Must be that Global Warming they all talk about. Yep, FB, we lick the dishes clean too. Probably wouldn't be so bad if we didn't keep filling them though.

Good one, Bren! But I'm not so sure, I'm pretty sure it has hurt me a time or two. :)

Sounds similar to my husband and I. When he gets it in his head to do something, he always does it with such single-minded intensity that I simply can't wrap my head around it. This time, though, we are both on the same page. You are sure right about that comfort factor when the weight comes on slowly. I had a back injury 10 years ago. I had been exercising regularly prior to that and had the best metabolism of my life, so I was able to eat and not be too obsessed with calories (not that I went overboard). Clearly, as the ability to exercise was affected, I lost muscle mass and my metabolism went capoot. I watched those first 20 lbs. come on over 5 years and made half-hearted attempts to slow it. Now, unfortunately, another 20 lbs. has joined the first. I did successfully lose 12 lbs. 4 years ago, but had trouble keeping it off. Something needs to change for me. Realizing I probably can't make my back any worse, I am forcing myself to exercise. Wish us both luck! Carbs are my nemesis as well.

I'm with you, Gilli! Let's get after it. After a while, you stick things in your mouth and think, "I'll just go light later," but pretty soon the 'go light laters' can't keep up. Let's kick some butt!

Amen, brother! I went for a brisk walk in our unusual Winter Wonderland. Yes, Oregon does get snow! Only about every 5 years, but this storm is a hum-dinger. It's a lot of fun to break up the normal ebb and flow of life, especially when you get to stay home and enjoy it. It was so cute to see how excited the neighborhood kids were. One of them even let me borrow their sled and go down a modest hill on it! Lots of fun! Have a great day!

We are both supposed to get several inches tomorrow (Saturday) so going to exercise tonight since we will be snowed in. Maybe I can break down and help DH with the snow removal.....nah...never mind. :) good for you putting the short cake back. Your DW will get over the donuts - we all do eventually at this age.

Yep, Susan, I hear you. I'm pretty sure some conscientious fellow first put those holes in doughnuts to keep the calories down, but it wasn't enough. Yeah, let DH shovel the snow, and let let him know how much you appreciate it by getting him a hot cup of coffee. Why am I telling you this, you guys already know how to work it? :D Have a great weekend, keep warm.

Funny, DH and I seem to have that same pattern, although with him it is beer instead of donuts.
