Amarok's Journal, 30 January 2009

I've been slowly getting better at this dieting thing.. which is good because my pants are a touch uncomfortable and really there isn't any way of buying new ones.

Sadly... I'm not seeing any results. I actually seem to be gaining rather than losing. Still. I guess its one foot in front of the other... I'm definitely eating more vegetables and fruits now.

The next few days.. I'm going to make sure I find time to do some aerobic exercise. Its tricky, but I garuntee that it is important.

And I do need to work on getting more water into me.

I am finding one of the hardest parts is that I really honestly am feeling hungry or cold by the end of the day. While I'm trying to make sure I have lots of healthy snacks it is hard not to crave something sweet and filling. I bought a few boxes of those 100 calorie snack packs.. but I found that I''d just end up eating 2 or 3.... but I made myself wait between packs.

I am having the same problem with the 100 calorie packs. I made the mistake of buying Little Debbie Triple Fudge brownies. The are seriously small, and I can't seem to eat just one. Yesterday I ate 3 of them throughout the day, and could have ate more! I don't like eating them like that, but I can't seem to help myself. I have considered not buying them at all, but I really have to have something sweet at home or I will go crazy! I suppose this is where self-discipline comes in to play...

if you really need a treat, try checking out Weight Watchers Chocolate or Latte Ice Cream Bars... They are only ONE POINT and SO HUGE ! They are REALLY truly tasty and most the time they are on sale at the local store Buy One Get One... ALSO -- Skinny Cow has tehse DEEEELICIOUS Ice Cream cones for 3 points, I like the Mint Chocolate one... they also have Skinny Dippers, an ice cream stick dipped in chocolate.... I even let the kids have the Dippers, they love them ! All the best !

Thanks for the tips... I have a second problem which is that I live just south of the Arctic circle and our grocery store really isn't into stocking diet anything. Skim milk and fat free yogurt I can get, sometimes they have low-cal frozen yogurt. I seemed to do better with the big tub of frozen yogurt. I could really make it last (maybe because it cost $11.) I think I need to buy snacks that don't have chocolate in them - since that seems to be what makes me go back. LOL.. I wish I could buy diet jello... I'm going to have my mom send me some up.
