Shrewdness's Journal, 20 January 2021

I joined FS in August just to keep an eye on what I was eating and watch my weight. As soon as I joined I started losing little by little by little starting in August 2020. I’ve never had a gain, but I’ve never lost a lot. I just lose tiny bits at a time which adds up. We were vacationing in the mountains and I truly was so scared to get on the scale because I didn’t wanna gain after always having a loss. To my surprise I’m doing OK and I’m back on track and I’m going to start tracking my calories again. I am a real believer in drinking water lots of it and I want to do better in that category too. Also to my surprise I didn’t realize that this app came with a family that is so supportive. Have a great Tuesday everyone - stay on track and do your best.👍😊🌺

I agree, proper hydration is important. Not in excess of course, as with anything.

Studies have shown that people that take weight off slow, tend to keep weight off longer and are more apt to make changes in habits more permanent. Something I have learned also, if you log everything you eat, at least this is true in my case, you tend to eat better and intake less junk calories. Many of us just eat junk because it is there or we are bored. IF we eat right other things will fall into place.

Six months without a single gain is INCREDIBLE! That might be the biggest success story I've ever seen. Because you're losing slow and steady, I think you stand a better chance of avoiding the side effects of rapid weight loss: super saggy skin, hair loss. Keep doing whatever you're doing.

Chèvre I am usually always drinking and to my demise sometimes get on the scale after a full glass of water.😄 Thank you Kim. Skydiverjim I know writing food down not eating junk food is what is saving me. Sticking food in your mouth without thinking about it is a true killer. Larilyn, I am just eating so much less than before I feel like I should be losing faster, but then when I lose when I think I should be gaining I wonder if it’s a medical issue, but I see my doctor all the time for thyroid issues. It’s just being conscious of what you’re eating, writing it down and training yourself not to put stuff in your mouth that’s junk.

I get my water down ok each day. I start with 2, 30 Oz tumblers of hot coffee from 9 am to 1:30 pm. Then I switch to hot tea, 60 Oz whenever I choose. Between 5 pm to about 8 pm I eat about 1000 calories. I was eating mostly fresh veggies and my homemade veggie soup, but yesterday I switched to high protein for week or so just to see it will affect weight loss one way or another. Salt is my weakness!
