After being offline for a few days because of my father's funeral I am back. I ended up getting a flu of some sort during the process. I had been blaming the headache I had on stress and crying. Then during the funeral service I started feeling sick to my stomach. I managed to hold it together during the entire process...graveside and everything...but it was incredibly hard. Then last night my daughter started with the headache and this morning she had an upset stomach as well. At least the flu explains my tiredness this last few days.

So sorry you were sick along with everything else you had to deal with. I hope you start feeling better soon and I hope your heart begins to heal, it will with time. God bless you and your family.

Thanks to all my buddies! I did get a few comments about how much I had lost from some of my friends and family at the visitation. Then I came with a black dress on for the funeral and my sister said she was blown away by how much smaller I looked in that dress. Then because we went out to the cemetery after the funeral in below 0 temps plus a windchill well below 0 I quickly changed into slacks and a sweater with cuddle duds under. When we got back I guess with not feeling well and the change in clothes I started to look like death warmed over myself. What a confidence booster! NOT.... Still being overshadowed by how much my hubby has lost. Everyone notices and comments on his loss. Gets a bit frustrating at times. I am so proud of him...but after 40 lbs + loss I would think that it would be more noticeable on me.

K - looking like death warmed over at a funural and with the flu is certainly understandable... I would not worry about that. I understand how you feel about the loss and how it is perceived. People do seem tto notice with men before they notice with women. I think it is because people really look at men but they 'perceive' women. Once you feel better - head over to the mirror and take a look at yourself. How do you think you look? I would suggest changing your hair or your makeup or getting some new clothes that make you feel sexy... That feeling will go a long way. It is amazing how much difference that will make. I know that I have lost weight and gained weight and lost it again.... It is so strange that people only seem to notice when I am feeling good about myself. When I accept that I am OK, they seem to think that I am looking good. It is strange but as I said, I think for women, people perceive them rather than see them.

Feeling just fine about the flu. Definitely over that. Now need to get some Christmas spirit. Haven't gotten anything at all for my kids yet to wrap. Have tree up with lights on...no ornaments. House needs to be cleaned. Not enough hours in the day or ambition. Now this weekend need to run errands...but it is supposed to snow again. We get out of the deep freeze and into the snow machine. Why can't we just have sunny warm days? I want the snow and ice off the roads but stay on the grassy areas. Not asking for much! Some money to buy those presents would be good too as long as I am asking!
