Weight loss is individual, as well as based on research and an individual's biology and medical history. Everyone doesn't respond the same to weightloss regimens. As a "doctor," you know that. For a lot of struggling individuals, it's not just CICO. Hormones are involved as well as a lot of other biological factors. Also, if you take roids, which many lifters do, that also is considered. And A LOT of weight lifters do!

I would love to see Diablo's weightloss summary blanket program for every single person. Yep, just say yep if your 70 years old, do this. Regardless of age, medical condition, weight, medical history, etc. I'll weight. (Pun intended.) Do you take steroids? Because honey ....sure no you don't.

Ironically diablo was quoting a Dr. Spencer whom is a MD but I guess that doesn’t count. In defense of diablo I am a bodybuilder too and I have been for a long time. Yet in all my years I never met a female or male bodybuilder whom was able to get ready for a show who could just pound down large volumes of food because of his or her diet. Because in the end it’s calories in calories out. There are great Benefits to keto dieting. many better brain function and low inflammation levels just to name a few. But if your maintenance calories are 2500 and you eat 3500 on a keto diet you will gain weight. Eat what you enjoy eating. If you prefer to eat high fat low carb then do it. If you prefer all veggies then by all means do that. But if you want to loose weight you must either train or eat into a deficit.

GCC, I guarantee that everyone who eats less calories than they burn will lose weight, no matter what. Making excuses is counter productive to progress. Move more, eat less, lose weight. Its really that simple.

I get all of the body builder excess in defense. Unfortunately, the majority of people on this bloody site are not excessive lifters, are they? Do you expect me or other people at other stages of life to just mindlessly agree with you? Of course not! So, I'm bored with and have discontinued with this pointless dialogue. Why don't you just take more steroids. Bye! 👏🙌

I was a nurse in a ltc facility 10 years. Mostly Alzheimer's and dementia patients. Everyone met with a doctor and dietician upon admission and guess what they did if they were obese. Decrease calories and order PT OT and put them on a walking program. Cico? Sounds like it. Every health condition got the same plan. No one attacked any ones way of eating just simply stating that every plan is simply controlling what goes in vs what goes out. Not sure why the attacks. The shrink me trolls are bad enough now I've seen 3 others today alone that get their panties in a wad over eating plans.

ewww you sound like my mom's dietician from like 1994 that would accuse her of lying in her food and exercise diary and send her home crying. most people on this app tried all kinds of shit for years before finding something that works for them so they will understandably be annoyed when someone throws out lame ass comments stating the solution to their problem is simple. I should go on a mental health app and tell people to just "cheer up and be more grateful" that'll cure their depression!!!!

The whole point is that after you find what works for you...whether it be keto or what have you...the reason for the loss is because you are consuming less calories...period.

And if your mom didn't lose weight in 1994...science hasn't changed so she either ate too much or moved too little to be in a deficit.
