FLOWERDUDE's Journal, 15 November 2010

With today's cold weather... I am realizing the challenges that lie ahead of me. I started this WOE journey in April... after cold weather had past. But boy-howdy... cold weather hits and the desire for comfort food hits like a mutha!
Last night... I cooked some spaghetti "gravy" and noodles for the masses (our place is the gathering place for my kids friends) and then this morning... my youngest came in at 4 am this morning with a really bad cough and her comfort food of choice is potato soup.. which I made tonight once I got home. I really, REALLY wanted some... but I also really, REALLY R-E-A-L-L-Y want a loss on the next weigh in. I am on a frickin' mission, peeps. :) I passed on them... but know I need to come up with substitutes that can fake me out.
Just sharing ...

Steve, I have a recipe for some great Spaghetti Suace in my cookbook. We make that and have it with spaghetti sqaush. As for the tomato soup, make the same recipe with cauliflower and heavy whipping cream. Make up the recipe on your FS cookbook and see how many carbs is in it and then go for it!!! You may have to limit the amount, but at least you can have some!

oh, and I completely understand the gathering place...our house was the same, then they got married and we had to reconfigure our amounts when preparing food. Spaghetti was always a big hit!!!

You are most welcome my friend!! I was so happy when I discovered that I could still have "spaghetti"!! And the crustless SF pumpkin pie is freakin' awesome!!! I really had to use a lot of self control to keep it to one piece!!
