Egull1's Journal, 12 July 2020

Well, this is kind of a new happening. Yesterday, I weighed in at 114.6 and today we have a nice 114.4 rather than a half pound drop! Dare I say it? Dare I put it in writing? Might I actually be finding a baseline weight!?

I have been having some heart to hearts with this body and the universe with regards to my scale weight. I'm perfectly happy at 114. There's actually a Buddhist reason for this. In Buddhism, we alway refer to the set of principles or path we tread as the "middle way" and in an irony of sorts as a 5'2, 46 year old women 114 lbs is exactly smack down the middle part of the normal range on the BMI chart for my gender and height.

I'm not looking to be lower than normal because I LOVE the muscle and don't want to lose it. I don't mind the 123-127 lb range, but confess the "teens" allow for expanded mobility and lessens the pressure on arthritic joints in hips and knees by 85-90 percent. I can still tell when it's going to rain, but I don't have to reach for the ibuprofin.

Anyhow, I know better than to say this is it for all time. Body weights naturally fluctuate through a day, week, month or year. But if this is where this body chooses to sit for a bit - I'm genuinely okay with it. I also think putting in the additional calories for increased summer activity has helped a great deal. I can attest to the fact that I appreciate the extra fuel.

I did go down a percentage in bodyfat according the calipers. I was sitting at 10 for a long while, then nudging down to 9. But, last week when I pulled them out - I was at the 8 mark. Which on the chart puts me about 21% body fat, which is ideal and healthy. Of course, calipers are not precise, but feeling chilly a lot easier certainly is, LOL.

Current measurements are:
Waist: 26-26.5 (depending on bloat)
Hips: 32
Chest: 32

So, I guess we will wait and see...If I can maintain my lows around this weight for at least 6 months, I will revise the weight range I set for myself.

Below is me making the best of a 90 degree day, a 45 minute walk, and a 20lb weighted vest. Have a wonderful blessed week, everyone!

Very good! Nice for you to have an idea where things are leveling out. The middle of the pack is such a nice place to be. Not too much and not too little. You are rocking it.
