Jada Petsch's Journal, 17 October 2010

Wow, lowest weight I've had yet. ^.^ But we had a really busy day yesterday. lol. Drove up to a big fleamarket, and walked around there for about 2 hours, had lunch at applebee's. Came home and rested for all of 15mins before we got dressed in jogging pants and hit the park for a good walk. I only did 1.2 miles yesterday, but it was good. We had leftovers for dinner, then after dinner we did BL Cardio Max workout. And I'm not really that sore from it. I need to work with the weights more, but for the most part I'm not that sore. Guess I'm going to have to up my workouts since my body is starting to get use to them. :/

I hope everyone else is having a good and healthy weekend as well. :)

I'm really excited about starting too Babs! :D I have salad in the fridge, green tea in the cabinet, my walking course mapped out, at the park and just on the sidewalk by the house. Two different cardio Dvd's, and my Mp3 is loaded with good music for either walking or dancing! ^.^ So ready to go!! I think I might get a new pair of Jogging shoes soon though. I was going to wait til I was down to about 75 pounds/new ticker color. But I'm thinking that I want them now to wear while walking at the park, and jogging some. :) Hrm, then maybe I can make my 275 reward a new jogging stroller to put the baby in! :D

Jada, if you need new jogging shoes, get them now, don't wait to reward yourself for those. You are really stepping up the activity so good shoes are a must to avoid injury especially shin splints which will take you forever to recover from. I love the reward of the jogging stroller, getting those good habits instilled for the baby asap are so important along with good healthy eating habits. I see you are already "dancing" together, or shall I say running around the living room :) LOL!!

Yeah, I will start looking for a really good pair of jogging shoes that fit properly. The front part of my foot is really wide, so I have issues finding shoes that fit properly. So I guess I'll hit the shoe store in the big city for shoes. :)

Check out New Balance, they are made for the wider foot. I have the same problem, wide foot with high instep, really hard to fit but I love my New Balance, on my 3rd pair and they fit perfectly every time.

That's awesome! I'll look into them. I actually have a high instep too. XD That's one of my other problems. I can either find one that's good for my instep, or the right width, but not both. lol

keep up the good work! Weights are excellent. I use to train people in the gym back in the day & that is all I ever did was lift weights and I wasn't bulky at all, just toned. When you lift weights you utilize calories better and your body becomes a fat burning machine, so definitely consider doing more weights if you hit a plateau. The thing about weights though, is you may gain first before you loose because muscle weighs more then fat. But once the fat burning affect kicks in from weights the scale will start to drop. So good luck, keep it up, you are doing a wonderful job!

Thanks for the encouragement Chubs! :D I haven't really hit a plateau, but I can tell my body is starting to become accustomed to the exercise I've been putting it through. The walking and stage 1 of Cardio work me, but don't leave me my muscles as sore as they use to. I can keep up with it a whole lot easier.

Ditto on the New Balance shoes! I have some 850s & I LOVE them. They're not worn out yet but I did see a pair of 858s on sale at the mall so I might pick those up to have a 2nd pair. Make sure you go to a place where the salesperson can do a gait analysis. You might find a knowledgeable salesperson at a sporting goods store, but a running store is definitely the way to go. Even if you don't buy shoes there, they can tell you which of the 3 main types you should be looking for. Keep up the great work chica! :D

I was looking at the different types earlier today actually. I need flexible or cushioning shoes. My feet roll to the outside even when I walk, and I always look for shoes with more arch support, so I'm pretty sure that's what I need. I'll try to find a sales person with gait analisis experience though. Not sure how sucessful I'll be though. XD There is a Shoe Dept. here in town. For anything else I'll have to look for a store in one of the Cities. I will definately be looking into the New Balance shoes, seems like alot of people like them. :)
