Grrr... the scale refuses to budge this week. At least it's not going up. Someone had suggested to me that I should try to move my workouts to only 3 days a week to give me plenty of recovery time and maybe bust through the weight loss stall. I'm going to try it since I really haven't had a "day off" for two months. My weekends have been eaten by remodeling my future rent house (manual labor workout) and I've been alternating strength & cardio workouts during the work week. Hmmm... maybe I do need to ease up.

My running class starts Tuesday. I'm... nervous... I think. I don't really know what to expect. All I know is that the suggested minimum you be able to do before you join is to run for 2 minutes and walk for 1, so I've done that twice this week (once for 30 minutes and once for 15) so that I can be prepared... hopefully.

The house situation continues to get more complicated. It turns out that the plumber didn't align the drain hole to the shower right and now he has to come back to bust the cement and do it again, which puts us even further behind schedule. The Halloween deadline is quickly approaching.

My brother just started the P90X program with his wife. So far they're liking it, but they're only 3 days in so I'm waiting to see how it goes for them over a longer span of time (she says she's lost 6 lbs. & 2 sizes so far!). He wanted to let me borrow some of the discs but I didn't want to start that and the running class at the same time since both would probably be overkill. So maybe in 2 months when the class is over I'll start P90X... maybe.

An old man and a young man worked in office next to each other. The young man had noticed that the older man always seemed to have a jar of peanuts on his desk. The young man loved peanuts. One day while the older man was away from his desk the young man couldn't resist and went to the old man's jar and ate over half the peanuts. When the old man returned the young man felt guilty and confessed to taking the peanuts. The old man responded "That's OK, since I lost my teeth all I can do is lick the chocolate off the M&Ms."

(oh and all that working out it is likely muscle mass. Give your body a week or tow to burn enough fat to offset that new heavy mucle mass :))

I would like to think that I'm adding at least some muscle, but even under the best of conditions you can only really create one pound of muscle per week. If my weight is staying the same I guess I could be building one pound of muscle and burning one pound of fat (a very good trade off), but without high tech equipment there's really no way to know for sure.

Give it time. Might be water weight, if not muscle. Looks like your graph is doing well in general, but it is frustrating to not see it budge in the short term.

1 for 1 sounds like a good trade off to me ;) Postive thinking, my friend positvie thinking!! You KNOW you are doing the right things, just hang tight. Cutting back on your workouts with all that work you are doing on the week-end might well be a good idea.

Gross. You're remodeling the house that you're going to rent or the house that you own and are renting out?

Both... maybe... I'm confused. It is actually owned by my step dad who eventually plans on selling it. But the housing market kind of sucks (big surprise, right?) and he would lose too much money on it if he sold it right now. So me and my roommate decided to rent it from him for a while (maybe a few years) until he sells it. Anyway, I'm helping my step dad remodel the house before we move in at the end of October. Things just really haven't been going our way. Every time we fix something two more things break... it has been extremely frustrating. Even more so because he refuses to hire people that know what they're doing. The only other person that has worked on it (a plumber) is one of my aunt's friends... and officially the worst plumber ever.
