Please to report my mother is a very happy person today, as per normal i walked around to her to make her breakfast(good exercise for me). Then her grandson( sisters son) turned up to talk to her happy days. I must go for a long walk this afternoon

Great news then Chestnut. Pleased for you. Hope you got/get your good walk and dont meet any dickheads! The care home where my Dad lives was on local news this morning as they are a charity which also accepts paying residents (they subsidise the 'free' or discounted places) and they were saying they are having serious financial difficulties as they usually have street collections and have lost that this year so a chunk of their income has disappeared. Oh dear!! At least Dad can afford to pay, but I wonder if they might have to close. Chillaxing here today and enjoying some total down-time which makes such a change. Not going to worry about doing anything in particular. Stay safe and well mate.

It's in Bristol chestnut. He went there a few months after we had the massive falling out when he was living with us. He wont speak to me now and last time I visited he pushed me away. He has dementia - which was diagnosed by our GP but the family would not accept it. Have to say that with our experience of seeing our patients with dementia it was no surprise and we could read it in his behaviour. Mood swings, denying he had said something, forgetting what we had planned and them saying he hadnt been told, changing his mind, not knowing who people were on the phone (one long conversation with my nephew he put the phone down saying 'well I dont know who that was but he was very rude -he kept asking me personal questions about what I had been doing'.... Ah well - at least he is getting the care he needs - although they dont usually take people with dementia so I am hoping he doesnt have to move. One of his latest comments was 'I dont know why I was forced to live in this hotel I was perfectly happy living at the office'.... Then the time he said he had three men sitting in his room at 6am in their underpants waiting for a taxi ! If i get like that I have given G permission to drown me! He answered 'who says you are going first?' *sigh*
