I didn't work out last night or go walking but I did rake leaves for about 30 minutes and boy howdy was that not an easy task! So, I feel like I did get in a workout after all. My mom is coming to stay with us tonight for the weekend. I always LOVE having her visit. We are going to drive over the mountain Friday to get apples in Ellijay. I love apple season!! Only this time, no fried pies!! Then on Saturday we are taking Riley to Six Flags. This will be her first visit there and she is so excited! She is finally tall enough to ride a few roller coasters. She is only 5 but is fearless so I think she will go through with it. I will let you know. Mommy may not be able to handle them like she used to!! I'll let you know about that one too! I haven't rode a roller coaster since high school. Should be interesting.

Hmmm, I'm wondering how to make the best use of those in season apples. Apple pie with a thin crust sounds good maybe (I'm not much of a baker).

Just bake the apples in the oven about 350 for 20 minutes, or until tender.. I put some smart balance in the cored part of the apple, and sprinkle with cinnamon and splenda. OMG it's the best thing I've come to a crustless apple pie. I made them (without the splenda..., and used butter) for my son when I was making his homemade baby food way back when. They're DELISH!

Apples are such a versitile fruit! we make applesauce as well... my kids love it when I peel the apples and they get to chop them up with plastic or table knives. we put them in a crock pot with a cup of water, load of cinnamon, and splenda and let it cook all day long! the house smells delicious! then the kids mash it all up with a potato masher and whisk. lots of fun fo rthe whole family and it tastes soooooo yummy warm!

I love making applesauce. It is so much better homemade. I like to leave it chunky though. Yum. We always have baked apples too Anya. Love them as well. But more than anything, I love to just eat an apple with peanut butter spread on it. My kids love it too. My mom used to do that for us as kids, but put raisins on top as well. I have my jambalaya cooking right now. If you haven't tried this, it is very good too. I use chicken breast, turkey sausage and brown rice. It is delish!! And makes a huge pot. You can eat on it for days.

The jambalaya recipe is in my cookbook. You could add shrimp too, we are just poor right now. LOL. No shrimp for us. And spice it up as much as you like. I have to leave it somewhat mild so the kiddos will eat it.

Fearless until it comes to spiders. She saw one in the tub the other day while using the potty, and goes streaking butt naked down the hallway screaming "spider!!!!!!!!!! spider in the tub!!"

Hey Gracie, there was a guy in that movie in the very last scene, remember? (maybe there was a hidden meaning they wanted to convey). ;-)

LOL I HAVE to tell you about a story getting Syd to brush her teeth!! When she was like 2... she was tossing and throwing a fit and would NOT do it unless I sat on her, literally and then hubby brushed while she screamed away. Well... one day, I was fixing my hair, or make up and from the other room, there was a blood curdling scream!!! It was Syd... I came peeling out of the bathroom, into the hall, the dinning room onto the sun room to find her sitting in a chair... get this,... with a FLY on the arm. Yep... a FLY. So....lol, the meany mom and dental hygienist that I am.... told her, (the next time we brushed her teeth), that, "the sugar BUGS in her teeth needed to be brushed out, or they could bite owee holes in her teeth." Guess what?? Yup, she dropped her mouth open and was fussing and telling me to "hurry up and get them out.. get them ALL OUT NOW!" LMBO!! =D Yep... worked for years, and she still brushed for like FIVE minutes, and she's only SIX. =D LOL I know.. bad, but not all that tall of a tail!! AND... it worked. :)

Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Ellijay! My sister and brother-in-law live in Ellijay. Small world - huh! We haven't been down there yet -- we are up here in the St. Louis area. He is an environmentalist who rebuilds riverbeds for Georgia. She teaches at a private elementary school. They moved to Ellijay from Stone Mountain and built a large lodge home there. They have bears on their mountain! Anyway! Enjoy your weekend and keep pluggin' with the weight loss effort! Okay? Okay!
