Met w/ my trainer at the gym today! 6 month check up...went great! He was really pleased w/ my progress...and gave me quite the workout to boot! (he's about my middle son's age - around 23/4, and built like a rock...like you'd expect a trainer to be.) I told him in the beginning...treat me like your mother! Today, he told me he was moving me to treating me like his sister!! 'Cause I can kick butt on some of these exercises!!! Loved it! He asked me about some of my least favorite parts of my body...what I saw when I looked in the mirror...and what I didn't like. Then he tailored some of the toning/conditioning exercises to improve those areas. Gotta love this kid!!! We will check back together in 3 months...and then again change things up. One of the things I like best about this kid is he gives me target goals for months 1,2, and 3 until we meet again. So I am not just doing the same thing over and over, but adding, changing and improving the whole 3 months. (and it's free.) gotta love that.

That is awesome! Sounds like you have a great guy there and he is free...amazing. Keep it up! Did he ever see you at your heaviest, so he could really appreciate all that you have done??

yeah, I started at the gym about 21 months ago. My first month or so I just used the treadmill, slowly ventured to the eliptical...I was rather slow. But in Feb of 2009 he stepped in and asked if I would like a free session...it was included in my membership...so I said 'sure'...but only if you don't laugh at me!!! He is so sweet, alot like my own kids...and he taught me only one or two things at a time. Then we would meet up after two weeks and he would show me two more...etc. Hard to teach an old dog new tricks. Because of a busy schedule though we hadn't really met in the last 6 months...which is where I have taken off the majority of my weight...so yesterday was such a great boost! He was really happy for me!! And of course, I was finally proud of what I have been able to accomplish.

Thanks Jill! get back in your groove if you can...exercise makes me feel ALIVE! (even though honestly, I only do a moderate amount.) With all my trips to the gym, you'd think I looked like a bodybuilder by now...not even close. Still too many jigglies...but this young man is helping me work on some of those...so onward. It does feel good though!
