Good morning!

Saturday mornings are - almost traditionally - the days where I reach a new lowest weigh-in.

Today is no exception. Today, I weight 78.7 kilos.

In a way I am not concerned about the weight. I feel AWESOME the way I am. I am more than happy and satisfied (and thankful) with my weight. On the other hand, the dork in me really likes the thought of being under 80. I think if I can simply stay under 80, I would like it. This is my general goal, as I see it today.

I know today's weigh-in has a LOT to do with yesterdays activities.

Wife and I went to Copenhagen to do some shopping and to enjoy the last day off in our vacation week. Of course, we still have the weekend off. :)

I bought my controller for my bass amp, and I am REALLY liking it. It opens up a ton of options in my amp, and it becomes an even better part of my gear! I love it!

Before going, I went to the gym and did my workout. This is a MUST. I felt awesome all day after doing it, and it was nice that wife was with me, hanging out. She got to talk with my new boss, and they got along really well. Wife is even considering joining the gym, and we have talked about giving her the introduction next week when I work. She's most comfortable with me doing it.

Let's see what happens.

I skipped my morning walk, as I knew we'd be walking a LOT. I started Endomondo on my tablet as we reached Copenhagen, and at the end of the day it recorded 7 kilometers. And that is just the outside walking, not counting all the stores and malls inside.

My step counter says 17000 steps for the day. Not bad at all.

...

Food wise, I did good and bad.

Good on the breakfast - my usual eggs and rye bread, though I did have a smaller meal than I would normally do. First of all, I wasn't all that hungry, second of all, I knew that there'd be challenges through the day.

First challenge came just a few hours into our trip when Wife felt like having a Belgian Waffle with soft serve ice cream. I just had to join her on that one. Cost: 600 calories. Damn.

We went for a vegetarian buffet for lunch. The food there is simply amazing, and there are so many healthy choices.

The downside to it is that all the salads and dishes have "something" mixed in, many times oils, and as much as it tastes amazing - it's just annoying to not know what I am truly eating. I registered my food very conservatively, and registered an extra 150 calories of oil just to be on the safe side.

That whole meal cost me almost 1000 calories. Wow. This just proves my point: You can EASILY gain weight from only eating healthy foods. This is what I tell my class all the time.

The good thing was that both Wife and I were so full and satisfied afterwards, that we simply skipped dinner. I had a protein bar, and ended up throwing a little away at the end, as I was full.

So, the day ended up at 2000 calories. It was fine. Just where I was hoping to be.

...

Today is TOTAL relaxation. Or so I think. No gym today. Probably not even my walk. I'm wanting to stay at home with Wife, but of course I can't have a day with NO exercise, so I think my plan of attack will simply be to spend an hour or so on the exercise bike.

I have done so much calorie burning the last week or so, I think I will survive a day slacking. No worries, I'll be back at the gym tomorrow morning. Today is just not the day.

We slept late. We had a nice little breakfast. We're gonna go shopping and have lunch out in about an hour. It's not like I'm NOT gonna move at all today, I just won't do as much as I normally do.

...

Today is Indulgence Day.

I don't know how nuts I'm gonna go, but I have an allowance of 3300 calories. Breakfast was 200 calories, dinner (Shrimp Ettouffée)is an estimated 300 calories. Lunch, if I go crazy, will be 1200-1400 calories. That brings me to about 1900 calories. This is with a HUGE lunch. And with 1400 calories to go. Some will be spent on treats for a movie or two, and the rest might just not be used.

Then again, who am I kidding? I'll probably spend it all on chocolate. LOL. :)

...

Today, I'm thankful for:
- A nice, relaxed day at home. Well, most of the day at home.
- New bass gear! Yay!
- Wife!

Have an awesome weekend! Life is good!

You are so right about "healthy salads" not always being low on calories... Mind you, I always add a dash of olive oil and vinegar to my salad leaves... I don't mind spending the calories on them, as I don't have much 'fat' in my diet and I know you need it, so that your body can absorb and process the other food you consume. I would rather spend my 'fat' calories of healthy oil, be it olive oil or coconut oil, than rubbish fat. I read about you leaving the black peanuts yesterday, I guess it was coming to a 'natural close' and everyone needed to move on. ...... I expect that chocolate is the stuff you bought while in Paris... Don't eat much KK get DW to hide some of it LOL

Generally i don't mind a little oil in my salads either, but if so I need to be the one distributing it. Otherwise I have no idea how much the damage is...

SELouisiana, just make wise choices putting it all together. Add extra veggies to bring the calories per serving down. It's all possible. Also, my day went nowhere near what we expected. Shrimp Ettouffee is canceled and we're having pizza. :/ Oh well. Back on track tomorrow.

Thanks for reminding me that ALL recipes (no matter how OLD) can be changed for healthier consumption. :D
