Jada Petsch's Journal, 04 September 2010

Went shopping with my sister today. And I bought jeans 1 size smaller than what I had on. :D They're a little tight in the hips, but they fit. ^.^ The Jeans I have on now are loose and they've been slipping down all day. lol. Yay for seeing a difference. Also ate alot of salad for lunch at pizza hut and had 2 pieces of thin crust pepperoni pizza. I use to eat several slices of pizza and no salad. So That is a triumph in itself. :D And I like those shoes that have the rounded bottoms, but I didn't want to pay $100 at the shoe store for them, might look around for a cheaper pair online. I really liked them though. ^.^

Good job! It's great when you can find new ways to handle familiar situations to make them healthier, isn't it? I was looking into those sneakers too, but decided since I was about to get real serious about working out I should get some professional advice. A buddy here advised me to go to a running store for a gait analysis which I did, & ended up springing for a FANTASTIC pair that fit me like a glove, provided stability where I needed it, & made walking on the treadmill much easier on my joints & back. They are NOT the rounded bottom kind, & I'm not sure a fitness/weight loss expert would recommend those. If you're looking to invest in some good shoes, expect to spend at least $60, but you'll get a better pair for around $100. Make sure the person at the store takes the time to see how you walk or look at the wear pattern on your current shoes & let them make some recommendations. You will get what you pay for, trust me!!!

Ah Thanks for the shoe advice. XD I actually bought a pair of the rounded ones on sale at Walmart today, not sure they'll do the job they're suppose to, but the arch support is fantastic. Since I'm just over 300lbs, my weight kinda squishes the shoes flatter on the bottom. There is still a little roundness to them, but not much. The biggest problem with them to me is the part that comes up over my heel needs to be a little higher. I think me and them will get on pretty good, and when I get to 275lbs I may reward myself with a new pair of shoes. :3

Congrats Jada on the size smaller jeans! That is such a great feeling. Did you take measurements when you started? I did, it is amazing to see the changes every couple of months. I have only lost 16 lbs so far but 15 inches!

I haven't done any measurments. I probably should though. I think I'll be putting on more muscle as I go and losing more fat, but that my body will have some major changes along the way. I had my sister take some full body photos of me last night so I can track the change too. ^.^
