Started trying to cut down some fat this week; going to try to keep calories down and use the Paleo template to do that. I'm also trying to keep protein WAY up in the 150+g/day range, so that I don't lose muscle mass. Mark's Daily Apple had a recent post about this, and the general guideline was to be in the 1g/lb body weight range to maintain lean mass. I'm going to keep to my lifting 3days/week schedule, and add in some cardio bike sprints on work days (3days/week). Another important change is that I would like to do this without Diet cokes. Those don't show up on the calorie count, but I can't imagine they would be paleo. Eating few calories with high protein means lots of lean meats and lots of veggies (since they don't have calories anyway). The goal is twofold: lose 15 pounds in 10 weeks, and drop the waist measurement below 36" (now at 39.5"). So far so good today, I'm down overall about 2 lbs, but the waist hasn't budged yet.
