Day 6: Aug 2nd

Whirlwind sort of day...lots to do, and go, go, go...managed to get most stuff done...driving around doing errands, shopping, groceries, came home and cooked food to bring to a potluck later, worked out fast and furious 30 mins (232K burned running on treadmill, with my wrist weights on for more impact!)....kept points very low in the day to save for dinner later (just 1 power bar (5 pts) and coffee with cream (1)..lots of water)

Dinner was the thai potluck: don't know how many points, but tried to make decent choices. Had 1 glass of white wine, 1 sweet thai ice tea, lettuce wraps with papaya stuffing, an eggplant/tofu curry containing coconut milk, another tofu and veggies curry, little bit of jasmine rice, and 1 sliver of fried banana for dessert.

Shouldn't be too bad points-wise, as I was actually feeling a little peckish around 11 pm when I got home, so had 1 rice cake (1 pt), couple pieces of walnuts, and 4-5 mini chocolate chips.

I bet tomorrow will show some water retention from the sodium in the Thai food (all asian foods seem to do this!)...but as long as I eat well, and workout tomorrow, I'll be ok. I am pretty proud of myself for rushing through everything today and managing to get my workout in, even if it was only for 30 mins. My usual self would have been, "drat, the errands took too long--longer than expected--and now I barely have time to get ready and go out, so no workout possible"...however, instead, I forced myself to go just for a "quickie" workout and told myself, so what if I'm 15-30 mins late gettin to the party--no biggie...so, kudos, and I'll make sure to keep up the effort tomorrow!! It felt good to workout after this long!!

Another thing, I realized today that I must have a little bit of the milatary-regimentation in me! I LOVE making lists, structuring my life, planning stuff etc etc...and while I also love being bohemian, spontaneous, and do unplanned things, there's still a big guilt component to all that...and the only ever time I really feel happy and pleased is when I've made new lists, new systems, and have yet another way to plan, tabulate, track stuff!! So, on that note, I have now a LIST of all the lists I will be tracking from this point on! Some of them include such stuff as my daily points and workout tracker, grocery list, weekly food menus, home chores tracker, work-project timelines tracker, budget and expense tracker, etc. etc. ...Oh, and according to my new system, I also have times in the day/week allocated to WHEN I am supoosed to be tracking each of these things!! Ok, this sounds totally anal-retentive and crazy even to me---God, I must be institutionalized!!! No, I must be MILITARIZED! :)

In any case, I am happy.

Your last sentence is the most important. It's good to see you happy. I work with someone who is a lot like you with the planning, lists, etc. It works for her! And as long as it works for you, and doesn't overwhelm - it's all good. The Thai potluck sounds OH so yummy. I love Thai food. Keep up the great work! Salute! (along the military theme)... :)

Making list of your lists and listing time to list your lists... YIKES! LOL! A little listing goes a long way. So you are going for a long, long, long way :) Great job keeping in decent control at the potluck AND getting a workout in. We all have our idiosyncracies so don't feel you are alone in yours. If that constitutes crazy, then I'll be seeing you in the looney bin!

Kudos to you for getting that workout in! I am guilty of the "oops...no time for exercise" thing too. I LOVE Thai food also. Just reading what you ate made me want some! With all those lists...you are one organized gal!! Send some of those vibes my way :D

Hey, as long as you're happy. There's nothing wrong w/a written down specific goal/list(s). You're more likely to accomplish tasks when they are written/typed. Good luck!
