My own little pep talk

I am generating this short list of some things I feel accomplished by to help motivate and inspire me to do more. (Particular cleaning my house. By its very nature housework can be very discouraging since progress can easily be undone and it takes a lot of effort when things are disorganized and messy. I know that if I improve my physical surroundings, it will help my state of mind to stay focused/ motivated to reach my more abstract goals, such as losing weight.)

Things I am proud of:

The last time I was hospitalized for depression was November 2003. (For me this is an accomplishment because I was hospitalized 7 or 8 times in the 4-5 years beforehand.)

I learned how to cook over the course of the last 5 years.

I have family that give me hope.

My daughter is healthy, very smart, and beautiful. She often helps me feel like I am doing something right because she is thriving.

I graduated high school on time despite having lost a whole year due to hospitalization and other forms of treatment for depression.

I know I can do better.
