Just thought I would add a few new low carb products I have recently discovered.

If you like your Caesars salad and miss the croutons, T. Marzetti has a 2carb crouton product. Its a little harder to crunch through than regular croutons but didnt taste too bad. I got a garlic and butter flavor and am not sure if there are any other flavors as this was all I found in Krogers. (2tbsp = 2 carbs)

Spectrum salad dressings have a variety of flavors that contain omega 3. The source of omega 3 is flax seed oil and the taste has remanants of the flaxseed oil. If you dont mind the taste you may like this dressing. I had the creamy garlic ranch dressing and a smoked chipotle and pomegrante dressing. I wasnt too impressed with either flavor because of the flaxseed oil taste but it may appeal to other people. (It isnt a very pronounced taste, more of a touch of the flaxseed flavor). (2 tbsp=1 carb..I think!)

Russell Stover has these delectable sugar free dark chocolate with rasberry cream filling squares. Its all sugar alcohol and I have been treating myself each day with one square. So far, no issues with it. The company has also got some other flavors though I cant remember what. (1 square= 0 carbs?)

La Tortilla has a variety of low carb tortilla wraps. Today I tried the garlic and herb flavor with some chicken patties and it tasted fine.

I wish I could say that there was a low carb product out there to die for but all the foods are simply acceptable in taste, with the exception of the Russell Stover chocs.

Some other products...you wonder what to eat them with, for example the 1 carb tomato ketchup by Heinz or the low carb spinach dip.

Russell Stover also has a MINT DARK chocolate or two that are DELICIOUS!! =D LOVE the LaToritlla Factory tortillas, too! I have also had some high in fiber that were tasty, with a meat/cheese/lettuce or laughing cow cheese, too. :) I make my own balsamic vinaigrette with flax oil and fresh herbs and pepper, it's the only dressing we even use anymore and the flax oil is cold pressed and dated, very important. I also squirt a tsp or so in my protein shakes to get more of it... I just canNOT eat it plain! lol :) Thanks for sharing!

thanks for all the ideas. IF I bring that chocolate in the house, I'll be doomed! :) I just wish they'd make lower-than-low carb tortillas...like around 2g or something!

I love the LaTortilla Factory tortillas too! The small size are only 3 net carbs per tortilla, BA. Thanks for the tips on the other items, CL. I've been looking for the low carb tomato sauce but haven't been able to find it.

Thanks for that Libs... We both seem to be researching the same things... only yesterday I came across this site ~ http://www.lowcarbmegastore.com/search.php ~ it was a link from sugarfree shielas site and it has a wonderland of zero carb sweets / candy which I might get for the boys so that they don't feel too left out ... its a UK store.

LOL about banishing the waterweight, it's a bit of a joke (though I firmly stand by the fact that it helped me. Here is how I put it to Evelyn : So the secret of banishing the water weight gain is to stand with hands on hips, point sternly at the computer (or wherever you record your points/weight, and say loudly in a gruff manner "BE GONE!" Then giggle like a madman and get your husband to show how silly you are!!

In dundee, michigan, russsell stover has an outlet store, where they have a very good variety of their sugar free, they even have these peanut crunch that slightly taste like butterfingers.

It's a coincidence that I just bought some tortillas yesterday (after a couple of years maybe). I don't know if it's my imagination but, for what was once such an inexpensive item, they seem to have *skyrocketed* in price.

info, I just moved back to USA after about 5 years abroad and EVERYTHING looks expensive to me! Even my 15 year old once commented.."mom they are advertising $5 footlong subways...werent they like only $2 or $3 dollars?" I just laughed and said.."Son you know you are getting old when you remember things being cheaper!!"

I buy a lot of Spectrum brand products: olive oil, salad dressings, fish oil supplements. Go easy on the Russel Stover because some people report "side effects"...let's just say I know a lady who uses them instead of ex-lax because they work better. I really like LaTortilla, they make a lower-carb gluten free tortilla too made with teff flour that tastes great. I have to special order it, but I'm happy that they make it. Oh, and when I order spinach dip at a restaurant I ask for celery sticks instead of chips or bread and they always accomodate. It tastes really yummy!
