It seems I was MIA this weekend! I worked on getting my taxes together.

I am self-employed so it is a time consuming process if I have not paid attention during the year...hmm...all of last year I was most focused on weight loss!

I also spent time preparing for vacation that starts on Saturday!

I like to look up restaurants and menus so I can be prepared to make better choices - this avoids reckless abandon with eating.

We go to New Orleans...and I found some vegetarian and more healthy options than the usual fried catfish!

The last two or three weekends in a row I have had higher calorie days than I prefer...it all balances out with the intermittent fasting but I really need to either step back into exercise more fully or cut back the calories!

Eat less, move more! My buddy Lizzie said, "It is about teaching your stomach to be happy with less food at each meal." How true!


I am dedicated, determined, and diligent!

I hate tax season because I somehow got put in charge of doing both hubby's and daughter's taxes even though I don't have any income myself. Ugggh. I've never been to New Orleans. Do you go often? I guess you will be there for Mardi Gras. That always looks like a fun time when they show it on tv. Good job checking out the restaurant choices ahead of time. I like to do that, too - not only for the calorie benefit of picking a healthy place but I also check Tripadvisor for the top rated restos in the area we are visiting so I can be pretty sure of having a great experience. I hope you have great weather and a wonderful time :)

@ Evelyn64: MARDI GRAS has passed - I would hate that type of crowding! And yes, I love TripAdvisor! I used it this time to find high rated options.

I have never been to New Orleans, but hear great things about it & hope you have a fun trip! I've been overeating first while traveling & then through this weekend, so I started a 4-day cleanse today. Good for us for recognizing an issue & looking at ways to better handle the times we tend to overeat. Your buddy is a wise woman (obviously she has you fro a friend!). I've also strayed from my attempts to eat mindfully, but its on my agenda too. Good luck my friend! xoxox

Oh Taxes - DH was self employed (until last October) and I haven't even started them yet. Like to put it off until April 14th - or maybe even get an extension until August - LOL!

Understand that tax prep, HCB. I don't know why I don't do a better job all year long either. My taxes are due in 2 weeks and I just got everything to the accountant. Hope you make out well. And Buffy, get busy, girl. Even if you file and extension (and who won't this year with the government not being ready over this year's tax changes), the money is still due on tax day.

I've been a little MIA too. Not focused on much of anything these days - probably because of the weather. I bet you are really excited to be taking a vacation! Can't wait to hear all about it. I have a virtual friend that lives there and some day I would like to go visit.

I've already filed and spent my refund ;P that's a good plan for dealing with eating out in a new city. i love to look up menus.

I think we must be heading into a busy time for a lot of us because I have been a little MIA also. =) Way to plan ahead on your eating for your trip!
