I had a pretty good day today. I went to the gym and did 30 minutes on the elliptical, and then tried to run. I ran a mile and my ankle tendons were SPLITTING with pain. I decided you know, if I keep on, I am going to injure myself. So I stopped. I did some serious abs, including the ab coaster where I put on 20 pounds of weights each side. Then I went to the part of the gym where it's mostly all men, because that is where most of the weights are. There are little weight stations at two other places in the gym, but they were being taken by personal trainers. You can't use the weights at the same time a personal trainer has a client there, that's the rule. So I went to the "big boys" section of the gym and was happy I found two 5 pound weights. I went to town, I didn't care. I was surrounded by big, buff guys - most of whom were barely out of high school. I lifted my weights and was done. My ankles are feeling a lot better, so I think I will be able to run tomorrow. Then on Sunday I will take a strength/cardio class. Good times.
